Sinsin and Alexandra were chatting at donut time. Sinsin had just been released from prison and was about to announce a "surprise" to Alexandra. Alexandra interrupted her and told Sinsin's boyfriend who cheated on her when she was in prison. Sinsin started a day of rampage, looking for the third person named dinah.
Razmik is an immigrant from Armenia who drives a taxi in Los Angeles. He has a good income and meets different people every day. His wife, daughter and mother-in-law lived with him and they prepared a sumptuous dinner for him to spend Christmas with.
Alexandra is making her first stage performance tonight. On Christmas Eve, she hopes to attract more people to her show, but Sinsin disrupts her plans.
On this day of Christmas, they all seem to have a certain expectation. . .

This movie shot with iPhone once again proves the importance of story in film. No big-name stars, no show-offs of mechanics and skills, just documentary-like lens language and stories, documenting the lives of those living in the hidden side of Los Angeles. They have drug dealers, they have prostitutes, they have taxi drivers, they have transgender people. There are blacks, there are whites, there are immigrants. Gender conflicts, cultural differences, the hardships and helplessness of life are all displayed bluntly on this day.
Sindeerella is the full name of sinsin, or flower name. Like most of the black transgender people on the street, she was doing a street job. She had just come out of prison and was chatting with her friend Alexandra at the donut shop. She was about to tell Alexandra the good news that her boyfriend Chester had proposed to her, but Alexandra would have misunderstood, thinking that Sinsin knew that Chester cheated on her. Sinsin was so embarrassed that she wanted to go. Find a third. After inquiring a lot, I found out that the little three's name is Dinah. Sinsin ran rampant on the streets of Los Angeles, passing by subway and bus stops, and finally found Dinah who was serving guests in a small room in a small hotel. Dinah is a white prostitute, thin and frightened, she can't resist Sinsin's violence at all, Sinsin and her are pulling on the street, Dinah has no choice but to follow Sinsin to find Chester, and halfway Sinsin realizes that it is almost seven o'clock. She said she was going to see Alexandra's debut. I had to take dinah to the bar where Alexandra sang, and when I arrived, I found that there were only two of them in the audience. Alexandra sent out a one-day flyer today, but only waited for two viewers. Her first time may be her last time.
Razmik was having Christmas dinner with his family and friends, but he was always on the fence. He wanted to see Alexandra sing, and the ticket was given to him when Alexandra served him. Using his work as an excuse, he left his family and went to a bar, only to find everyone gone. When he found out that Alexandra and his long-awaited sinsin had both gone to donut time, he drove there. Razmik's sudden departure made his mother-in-law suspicious, and followed him to donut time.
All the conflicts broke out in this doughnut shop with Asian waiters. During the time when sinsin found out that she was in jail for Chester, Chester not only She cheated on dinah=, even her best friend alaxandra betrayed her, Razmik's mother-in-law discovered his strange sexual fetish and asked her daughter to bring the child over to catch the rape. After the uproar, everyone was kicked out of the doughnut shop. On Christmas Eve, they slept through the night.
The story ends with sinsin and Alexandra looking at each other, despite the betrayal, they always reconcile, because they only have each other. Razmik's wife, will also choose to forgive him, because she has to rely on her for life.
The film reminds me of the same multi-linear narrative of Crash that I saw years ago, the same reference to race, and even the soundtrack and camera are similar. The helpless protagonists are only accompanied by colorful lights in the middle of the night, and the low-pitched orchestral music sounded, with emptiness and helplessness. For this city, countless marginalized people are only suitable for living in the dark night. Sin-Dee-Rella belongs only to a street girl's flower name, just like Cinderella belongs only to fairy tales. There is no prince willing to save a transgender black man, Razmik, an interracial man, who can only spend money to buy a kiss from Cinderella.
The topic Los Angeles is burning comes from a documentary Paris is burning. This documentary chronicles New York's gay and transvestite crowd in the 80s and their drag shows. Most of them are blacks, Italians and other immigrants. They are very popular on drag shows, but they are discriminated against and bullied in real life. Most of their work is standing on the street, and most of them died of AIDS in the end, and even more were killed by the benefactors. In Los Angeles 30 years later, they still live on the edge of the city, in the shadows of the streets. The difference is that there are more native whites among the degenerate people.
Color, race, gender, and orientation seem to be moral issues for everyone who explores American society. This film comes from the United States, and this film can only be produced in the United States. Diversified cultures and barriers that cannot be fully integrated have created this conflict and helpless film.
