In the viewing records, there is almost no anti-Soviet war film, and it is also a very rare film in which one male protagonist has died. In the age of war, it is conceivable how sad it is for a small country like Estonia to be sandwiched between the two great powers of Germany and the Soviet Union. Today's compatriots may be tomorrow's enemies, just like the twin brothers in the film, one died in the German trenches, and the other became the Red Army chasing former comrades after being captured. Both male protagonists fell into deep sorrow during the war, and perhaps ending their lives would be their salvation. At the end of the film, the little girl rescued by the elder brother is adopted by the younger sister, and the son of the enemy can finally speak his mind after his death, just like his elder brother, but the coincidence of fate gives hope to those who survive. The subtitles at the end of the film also remind the world once again: That big red country may not be as just and invincible as the world knows...
