If you like the book "The Little Prince" and think it's a story for adults, or you don't know the story at all, but just don't dislike Broadway, jazz dance, or old movies, I recommend you to watch this with five stars. piece.
In the era of the decline of musicals, the production was really not exquisite, as if Paramount didn't give much money. But the actors are enough to watch, the narrative is worthy of readers, and there is no suspicion of deliberately making tears. The film failed to become a classic, probably because of the audience, but personally, in my mind, this is a perfect interpretation other than books.
For many years, I have never matched the animal and plant characters in the book with the real human faces. Since I read this book, I have faithfully placed all the protagonists and the watercolor illustrations in my mind.
I usually don't take out this book when I have nothing to do, because the story is too pure, its implication is extremely heavy and profound, and the loneliness that people can't get rid of throughout their lives runs through. And Donen didn't parse the epic story, and divided the audience into three, six and nine, which is what I am most satisfied with. I think he must be a die-hard fan of the little prince, otherwise he would not do it willfully in the desert of Tunisia.
This is not the first time I see Fosse dancing and exclaiming, nor is it the first time I cry when I imagine the scene where the fox and the little prince meet and know each other in the forest; it is not the first time that Rose has said stubbornly and sourly. What every woman can say, it will not be the first time to feel peaceful and happy standing under the starry night sky.

imdb trivias:
Richard Burton was actively pursued for the role of the pilot. Burton had had a huge success, on Broadway, with Lerner & Lowe's "Camelot", but had turned down the film role (Camelot (1967)), as he did "The Little Prince".
Frank Sinatra was interested in the role of The Pilot and had the producers of the film behind him but director Stanley Donen vetoed his casting.
