At first, we didn't know the origin of the Minions race, and we didn't know why they willingly assisted Gru. It turns out that they are a group with a longer history than the dinosaurs, and they super worship the villain. As long as it is an animal that shows an evil side, they all regard him as the boss. However, this group of minions led by Kevin are the complete bosses. A few minutes from the beginning of the film, it shows us how the previous bosses of the Minions before they came to the United States were beaten to death by them. This section is quite interesting. It created a lot of climax for us at the beginning, and also heightened the author's interest in watching the movie, so that the feeling of cold scene frequently appeared in the back.
Although the super villain has never been found, the minions have found a place to live. However, without a leader for a long time, they gradually lost their vitality and faced the crisis of genocide. Time turned to the 1960s, bearing the fate of the group, Kevin volunteered to lead Bob and Stewart on the road to find a super villain to be the leader. From this, we can understand why these three minions have the most roles in "Despicable Me", which is related to their high status in the ethnic group through this experience.
The core story of the film took place in the United States and the United Kingdom in the late 1960s, with strong chronological characteristics. Nixon, anti-war marches, TV entertainment, the Queen of England, the Beatles and other chronological elements converged, not to mention the world's most famous film. In a country that is easy to be ridiculed by Hollywood, natural films will also make a lot of spoofs. This is also the most humorous part of the whole film except for the cute and cheap minions. Of course, the spoof element that impressed me the most was that the manly Queen Elizabeth II went to the bar to drink wildly after the crown was stolen, and even the big men could abuse them casually. The Beatles also showed off their legs. It turned out that they shot the famous poster of a row of crossing the road, and it happened to step on the head of the minions. Of course, due to the existence of the super stalk of Britain, the legend of the sword in the stone has also been teased, as well as the dark cuisine of the United Kingdom, the Queen's Guard, the royal housekeeper and so on. In order to have a good understanding of the various cold and humorous stalks in this film, it is obvious that you need to have some understanding of the hot spots of the era and the national culture.
Even with so many interesting details to foil, it still can't cover up the weakness of the villain. Scarlett is a super villain who is revered by all evils. She was portrayed as awesome at the beginning. She also appeared in a skirt that can be turned into a jet. No matter how you look at it, she looks like a steel black widow, and Kevin is naturally fascinated by her. Live, worship her as the lead eldest sister. When the movie gets to the point, Scarlett asks Kevin and the three to steal the queen's crown, but the author thinks that this villain is too weak, and is played by Kevin until he is poor, but her man is a very good invention. Home, seems very smart. In the end, Kevin finally killed the eldest sister. This wicked couple was easily subdued by the childhood Gru with a freeze gun. Because of this, the little yellow people finally found the super villain boss they dreamed of. The fate of the minions to defeat the boss has come to an end. Of course, at the Great Villain Expo at the beginning of the film, we also saw the young Dr. Nefario and the cryo gun he invented; in the end credits, Gru's grumpy mother also appeared. For such a prequel work, the most indispensable thing is always the feelings of the previous series.
The minions in "Despicable Me" are like squirrels in "Ice Age". They act as supporting roles and can still perfectly achieve the tasks arranged by the director. Once the order is released and independent, the effect will be greatly reduced. "Penguins of Madagascar" is such a typical case. I can't help but wonder if the hapless squirrel of the Ice Age starring in a movie alone would still have the effect of the original series. From this film, the answer is no.
