Discussing this film should start with Xia Detective Jack. It can be said that Detective Jack is the demo version of Mission Impossible 5, and it can also be said that Detective Jack is a full-featured version of Mission Impossible. This director is obviously surrounded by old-school spy films, as can be seen in the style of Detective Jack's active and complementary style of fighting spirit. It's just that the director who directed the film for the first time did not have enough control over the film, and lacked experience in the film's heavy suspense making. Although it weakened the proportion of armed confrontation, it did not achieve the effect of intoxicating the audience through the detection of the incident. When it comes to this new work, it is obvious that the director's level has improved, although the problem is still significant.
At this point, the author has already watched Mission Impossible 5 twice in the cinema, and one of the most intuitive impressions is that the film is just like the 007 Sky Murder in the same way. Both are reviving the ancient style, tracing the original style of the series, paying tribute and nostalgia; at the same time, they also pay attention to the existence and identity of the spy itself. The meaning of existence, at this point, even the trilogy with the Bourne Shadows has the same goal by different paths. Of course, the process of the contest is based on intelligence-driven force, through typical espionage and intellectual confrontation, rather than blatant fire and show off force on the streets like bandits or terrorists. Mission Impossible 2 is the culprit that caused the entire series to miss and it is also the most ugly part of the series. The third part returns to the original style to a certain extent. It is pretty good. The fourth part is the high-tech action to the extreme. It is too dazzling to make the previous work. Even the fourth part is not so exciting. This new work has made a trade-off, made a trade-off between old school style and modern style, and did not reduce the high-tech action elements. We can see that there are still many thrilling action scenes in the film, such as airplane climbing, motorcycle chase, Dive into the water-cooling system, but the action is no longer overwhelming, and the advancement of the plot is not driven by the action scene. The action has only become a means. Like all other espionage methods, even if these elements are thrown away, the movie will not be lost. Therefore, I have always liked "Soldier Potter and Tailor" and "Munich", as well as Tom Clancy's Jack Klein series of films, and they have explained the smart game between spies very well.
Of course, although this new work is retro style, it is not entirely new. Isn't the heroine of this film a very new place in the film? In the usual spy movies, the heroine is not the vase agent in 007, or the spy shadow that emphasizes the kind of emotional concern. Including the previous Mission: Impossible movies, it is nothing more than these two types, so Brother Tom finally begged a wife in the third part, and the later sequel was also lost. After all, this kind of emotional concern will become The most deadly weakness of spies. The heroine in this film not only has no emotional and physical contact with Tom, but even has no inferior strength to Tom. Except for the male protagonist's halo, the author did not see any place where the female protagonist is weaker than the male protagonist. The whole movie also spent a lot of pen and ink to show her outstanding intelligence and force. She and the male protagonist each acted as the host's use of opponents and friends, driving the development of the entire film plot.
In addition, as a former spy, the movie villain's duel with the male protagonist is basically a purely intellectual confrontation. From the perspective of the whole film, the male protagonist has always been at a disadvantage, and even the characters in the film can't help but complain. This is quite similar to the murderous intent of the sky, except that the villain in the sky has basically achieved his goal even though he died, so strictly speaking, it is the victory of the villain. The Spy 5 still gave the protagonist a halo of invincibility. So Spy 5 is never as good as 007 canopy. However, many people complain about the villain's death too fast, which I disagree with. The villain is a high-level intelligence officer, not a field agent, and there is no way for the literati to win by force in a confrontation. Moreover, the handling of the villain's arrest and the response to the opening of the movie are quite ironic.
On the whole, Mission Impossible 5 satisfied the author, and turned a blind eye to the flaws. Simon Peggy's cold humor is popular in this film, as well as the moments of Hawkeye and the prime minister, as well as allusions to British and American politics, which can be regarded as adding a bit of flavor to a serious spy film.
