Set in Chicago in the 1930s, Nass, a new federal officer determined to crack down on alcohol smuggling, fails his first operation due to leaks. Under the leadership of an old police officer, Malone, Nas reinvigorated and formed an action team to independently fight alcohol smuggling.
There are two main clues
in the film : 1. Wine, where the film has wine, the director arranged another liquid---blood; the
US Congress enacted a prohibition on alcohol in the 1920s, on the grounds that alcohol is the root of crime . Backfired. Prohibition did not really volatilize alcohol from the United States. The huge profits from selling bootlegs gave birth to a group of upstart criminals - bootleggers. They are isolated in suits, smoking cigars, and holding Thomson machine guns that even the US government cannot afford. They are active in the Great Lakes region on the US-Canada border. With the exuberant firepower of Thomson machine guns, the bootleggers are fully capable of fighting the police. But for most police and officials money is more effective than bullets. Throughout the 1930s, it was basically the world of bootleggers.
Part 1: At the beginning of the film, the bootlegger Capone answers the reporter, people want to drink, and I sell it. I'm just a businessman and then the barber scratched Capone's face and it was bleeding.
No. 2: The cafe where the little girl was bombed has a vague name, but the letters DRY are very clear, implying that alcohol is not sold here. The criminals blew up the entire store after unsuccessfully forcibly selling alcohol to the shopkeeper.
No. 3: Jimmy took Nas, Downes, and the accountant to copy Capone's warehouse. Capone's men came down to block and Jimmy stabbed the butt twice. No blood? ? ? ? Don't worry, then Capone blows his head off with a bat and blood splatters everywhere.
No. 4: In a shootout on the Canada-U.S. border, three gangsters were knocked out, and he took a sip when he saw alcohol flow from the bullet holes on the truck.
No. 5: Jimmy waits for Nas at his residence, takes out a glass of wine from the kitchen oven. He was later shot and killed by Malone.
Why should alcohol and blood be so closely integrated, because the prohibition of alcohol is implemented, the reason is that alcohol is the root of crime. Prohibition is right. You see blood when you see alcohol. Alcohol is definitely not a good thing and must be banned.
Where else does this happen: 5th, home (private), 1st, 2nd, 3rd, cafe, hotel (public), 4th, Canada-US border (both The trouble has reached the corners of the motherland). What does a country's sovereign territory include? Private places, public places, and borders that are unclear to neighboring countries. (Directors in China can save the 5th shot). Not only must alcohol be banned, it must be banned nationwide.
So the law is right, and it deserves an honest man like Nas to defend it. That's right, that's right, right?
2. Bad guys, good guys? Right, wrong?
The difference between the bad guys and the good guys seems to be very clear in the main theme of the film. The bootleggers (bad guys) headed by Capone are defeated by the heroic police officers (good guys) led by Nas. so easy, go to sleep after reading it (you can still have a good dream). Lying in bed and thinking about it, there seems to be something wrong with your sister,
bad guy: At the beginning of the film, Capone answers the reporter:
What am I doing? I am reflecting public opinion (democrats).
People want to drink, everyone knows that (the reporters were laughing, yes we drink too)
I'm just a prophet, I sell alcohol, I'm just a businessman. (I just serve the people) In
order to meet the needs of the people, ask the people to fight against the government. Who is the master of the country? What is the fundamental interest? Are you sleeping in politics class? ? Is breaking the law a bad person? Such a dedicated citizen, who would dare to say that without Prohibition, he would be a gangster, he might just be an ordinary businessman.
Nice Guys: Nas, Jimmy, Oscar, Downes are not nice guys in some ways either.
Jimmy, as a police officer, is illegal to hide bootleg wine in the oven.
From the very beginning, Yong Nas continued to use extraordinary means to deal with Capone,
and to induce confessions to Capone's accountant. (headshots the body to scare him)
Smashed someone else's warehouse door without a search warrant.
Oscar was supposed to be the cleanest, but after a fierce battle on the bridge. Take a sip of the wine that came out of the barrel.
Downs, change your name (certainly no good). After being seen through by Jimmy, he directly used the gun to Jimmy's head. This can be a good guy, and prisons all over the world have to close.
Then there is the most tangled Nas, who has always maintained positive American law. He vowed to use legal means to bring down Capone, and he always refused to Jimmy's cowardice.
On the rooftop, he directly pushed the surrendered Malone (Capone's subordinate) down and fell to his death. In the absence of evidence, directly threatened the judge to accept bribes and demanded a more jury.
What is the untouchable thing about the whole film?
Definitely not the US government, Capone personally killed people in the film, and also ordered his men to kill Jimmy and Oscar. Then what was the reason for his indictment? ? It's tax evasion, what a joke.
Nor is it a wealthy and powerful elite criminal like Capone. He thought that he could sit back and relax after bribing important officials such as judges and mayors. There are always unreasonable people like Nas, and Capone eventually falls.
The film begins with Nas' press conference when he takes office. When a reporter asked Nas what he thought of Prohibition, Nas replied blankly: This is the law of the country.
At the end of the film, Nas walks out of the office building. The reporter tells Nas that the prohibition order is going to be lifted. What will he do next? Nas said, I'll go have a drink first.
Democracy to national government, as Nas against Capone. It seems a little weak, but it is indomitable and cannot be destroyed. will eventually win.
Democracy is untouchable!
