Should folly be respected?

I don't know much about Catholicism, and I don't even understand the fundamental Catholicism. Actually, I don't think there is anything reproachable about what the priest said when he confessed to several teenagers and Mary. As an interpretation and faithfulness to the faith, it is not to the point of folly. The idea that Mary would have such extreme sacrifices mostly came from the family. Did that strong mother use religious dogmas to achieve her goal of controlling others at all times? The film shows the conflict between many modern social concepts and fundamentalism. For example, Maria believes that pop music is Satan's music, she refuses to follow the circle, and the teacher stops the music in order to respect her beliefs, and others say: why If you want to tolerate Mary's beliefs, don't you think about other people's choices? Maria went on a hunger strike and became anorexic, but asked to receive the Holy Communion, that is, this little loaf of bread that made the severely anorexic Maria suffocated. This intense conflict is really chilling. I think we advocate diversity, so voluntary choice of such beliefs and way of life should also be respected, but it is really difficult for me to accept it now, where is the limit of foolish belief?
