When I heard about a film that the teacher showed us in class, there was nothing special about it, but after watching it, I felt that I hadn’t laughed so much for a long time, so I decided to take it out and discuss it. After reading a few reviews, I found that this film is quite controversial. Some people think it is a masterpiece with a lot of connotation and deep meaning, and some people think it is just a vulgar comedy.
The comedies I watched since I was a child are basically from Hong Kong, especially Stephen Chow's nonsensical style. Every character in the film is impressive, so the concept has always been that comedy films are just for entertainment and do not need to convey any reason and spirit. But this "Growing Up" taught me that comedy can also have a clear theme.
This 102-minute-long film has a lot of laughs. Its laughs are all about the dirty jokes between the protagonists and some stupid and embarrassing things done. In these respects, it is basically the same as Stephen Chow's film. resemblance. But in fact, the real focus of this film is not only limited to these jokes, but also the theme of the film itself. Growing up is a topic that will always be discussed. In the film, whether it is these middle-aged male protagonists or their children, they are all still walking on the road of growth.
No matter what everyone's evaluation of it is, whether it is vulgar or connotative, in short, after seeing it and laughing, it is full of happiness.
