Review Ghost Mom Coraline

The first time I watched this film was a stormy night in my second year of high school. The atmosphere at that time and the weirdness of the film were really cool. Because "The Box Monster" was advertised as having something to do with this film, I revisited it again today on this sunny afternoon, and I still watched it very deeply. It is said that the original work is darker, but after all, it is to be made into an animation. In order to make it acceptable to children, some bright elements have to be added. But even with brisk music, it's hard to resist the gloom brought by the gray and rainy pictures, weird characters, and fantastic imagination. Stop-motion animation can create such a lovely and scary atmosphere, a perfect match for dark fairy tales.

Quite an intriguing story. Beautiful and magical. A fairy tale for adults. "Fairy tales are the most real: not because they tell us that demons exist, but because they tell us that demons can be conquered."

Because I saw this animation first, I was particularly shocked by the plot of this kind of story. Later, I saw Pan Shen’s maze and discovered that the ghost mother is also the warm version of the fairy tale Pan Shen’s maze. It feels like the truth is softly revealed, but it still No evidence was found. . .

  • Coraline Jones: [blank] I almost fell down a well yesterday, Mom.

    Mother: [typing] Uh-huh.

    Coraline Jones: I would've died.

    Mother: That's nice.

  • Mother: Coraline, why don't you visit downstairs? I bet those actresses would love to hear your dream.

Coraline Jones: Miss Spink and Forcible? But you said they're dingbats!

    Mother: [smiling] Mm-hm.
