Ramses is a foodie...

Overall a little disappointed, it was pretty decent. The first half is slow and the conflict is not dramatic enough. In the second half, the ten plagues of Egypt and the gods (or God's messengers?) in the form of children made me feel very tyrannical. The tenth plague kills the eldest son the cruelest. When the Pharaoh asked, "What kind of god kills even children!?" It was probably the question in many people's minds. The Red Sea is the most atmospheric and the climax of the whole film.
Speaking of which, the bible has never said who the pharaoh in Egypt is, and there has been controversy over the archaeological conclusion, but Scott still decided to let Ramses lie down. LOL In the film, Ramses is a foodie, and half the time They are all chewing things, looking like a fool. In the face of the ten plagues and the pursuit of the Hebrews, Ramses' arrogance, conceit and stubbornness are vividly portrayed. On the contrary, Bell's Moses was not very good, and the part of learning about his life experience was a bit abrupt.
I don't know how much faith the ancients had in gods/beliefs. At least in the film, the Egyptians did not revere the gods very much, and the Hebrews even began to worship the Taurus when they left the country (no wonder the gods are arrogant...). Generally speaking, the events of the Exodus took place in the 18th to 19th dynasties of the New Kingdom. In the beginning, the Egyptians are still building the pyramids. I really want to complain. The movie is more resentful than IMAX. It's worth a look, but I don't want to brush it twice.

★★☆The western religious mythology drama is about to have its own immune function. No matter how well the special effects are done, it can't have such a close feeling, and the film itself is quite broken.

At the end of the film, it was very touching to be dedicated to my younger brother Tony Scott, but the film was really ugly! The styles are nondescript, and it is difficult to get into the play from the beginning, especially Ramses, who has a swollen face and two lacks. An epic blockbuster does not mean that it can be called an epic because of long shots and spectacular people. In the end, the film is only poor. You can see it under the camera. Moses, who should be the climax at the end, splits the Red Sea. This part is far less shocking than the Ten Commandments.

Exodus: Gods and Kings quotes

  • High Priestess: [reading fowl entrails] In the battle a leader will be saved, and his savior will someday lead.

Moses: [laughs] Then the entrails should also say that we will abandon reason and be guided by omens.

  • Hegep: Do you know what the problem is? People live too long these days. Every year the death rate lags further behind the birth rate. And these people, they reproduce like it's a sport.

Moses: This is the problem? A growing work force?

Hegep: Oh, no. No, of course not, it's good for production, of course it is. But only to a point. When that population wants you dead, yes, it's a problem. So either I'm given more troops to maintain order, or I start thinning out the herd.
