Recently, Japanese nationalists are boycotting the release of Angelina Jolie's film. Why? The Japanese side said that Jolie's film "Unbreakable" portrayed Japanese prisoners of war in concentration camps during World War II as inconsistent with the facts. In fact, the film is based on the non-fiction book of the same name by Jolie.
The film will be released in North America on December 25. The story focuses on the experience of American soldier Louis Zamperini in the Pacific War during World War II. When the plane crashed in an air battle in 1943, Zamperini and two comrades drifted at sea for 47 days. Later, they fell into the hands of the Japanese army, and Zamperini was also thrown into the Japanese prisoner of war camp, where he endured more than 800 days and nights of inhuman abuse. Under the heavy blow, Zamperini did not lose the faith and courage to survive, but always encouraged and helped the companions around him.
After the war, Zamperini returned to the United States. Although he suffered the shadow of the war, he chose to forgive the cruel abuse of the Japanese army. "Unbreakable" is a memory restored by the author, American female writer Laura Hillenbrand, through 75 interviews with Zamperini, reading through materials. It also topped the New York Times bestseller list and was named one of the top 10 nonfiction books of 2010 by Time and Publishers Weekly.
According to foreign media reports, the film has received good reviews, and it is believed that the film will likely win Oscar for photography, Oscar newcomer and Jolie's Oscar director.
Universal Pictures will also promote this film to be released in China. On the occasion of the public memorial day, when I saw the report of "Unbreakable", I had a different feeling and suddenly thought of the Chinese people who had suffered. A few words from the Japanese side can deny the evidence that everyone has been talking about. I said: little devil, you said this is not true, but you have to come up with some evidence!
