If you don't have time to read the long review, let's watch the short review!
------------------------The
superficially kind fairy tale characters overcome the superficially evil nightmare, in fact, it is not that justice has triumphed over evil, but an idealistic gang Defeat the realist gang.
The color sense of the film is much better than expected, because in the poster it gives me the feeling of a hodgepodge of colors without style and taste.
The name of the characters in this film is not well translated. Jack Frozen feels like a Japanese name, and the villain is called "Insect Eater", and I don't see that he likes to eat insects.
The character design of the big villain is too ordinary.
Santa's hair and beard are all white, but his eyebrows are black. It feels weird!
------------------------

In the wilderness, there is a tattered wooden bed, and under it there is an abyss, and in the abyss lives evil nightmares. He brings fear and makes children stop believing in beautiful fairy tales. Therefore, the characters in the fairy tale could not sit still, and must defeat this nightmare and seal him back into the abyss. It's really just a turf war. There is no essential difference from our class struggle in which we fight to the death and finally set foot on 10,000 feet so that he will never turn over.

In my opinion, the superficially good fairy tale characters triumph over the superficially evil nightmares. In fact, it is not that justice has triumphed over evil, but that idealistic gangs have defeated realist gangs. Ideals are not the equivalent of justice, just as reality is not synonymous with evil. Perhaps, for children, this will bring short-term idealistic happiness, but in the long run, the ideal will eventually return to reality. Movies with themes like "The Polar Express" and "Guardian League" can never solve the paradox of shattered ideals. The more they realize a dream, the more afraid that the dream will be broken, and we know that it will be broken eventually, so When it eventually shatters, the sense of loss will be even heavier. At that time, it is not known who will fall into the abyss.

So what we want to seal is not the fear itself, but the uncontrolled expansion of the fear of falling dreams.

When I was young, I watched a Japanese animation called "Thumbelina", in which there was a goddess of love and a goddess of evil. The goddess of love always helps Thumbelina with her love, and the goddess of evil always tries her best to make Thumbelina difficult. And what impressed me the most was that I thought Thumbelina would finally defeat the evil goddess and rescue the benevolent girl who was trapped, but this was not the case. In the final episode, the goddess of love and the goddess of evil actually stand together to hold a successful ceremony for Thumbelina who has gone through many trials. It turns out that the goddess of love and the goddess of evil are sisters, and they represent the two aspects that a person must experience to achieve success. Coincidentally, such a trend has also been set off in modern Western children's literature, that is, not only to show the truth, the good and the beautiful, but also the fear and cruelty of reality, both of which are important for children's growth. Blindly fabricating idealistic lies is not beneficial to the growth of children.

Jack Frozen, has the power to control ice. If Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and Sweet Dreams are all functional characters, then Jack Frozen is a functional character. The former completes functions through its own responsibilities, while the latter completes responsibilities through its own functions. Therefore, there is no essential difference between Jack Frozen and the functional superheroes in American comics such as Superman and Spider-Man. This determines that the two most important plot elements of the film will be basically similar to the Superman film: first, how the superhero protects the weak with powerful abilities; second, how the weak civilians support the superhero with their own spirit. The former satisfies people's visual needs, which of course are essentially sexual needs; the latter satisfies people's spiritual needs.

When Evil Nightmare asked the classic question—you guardians protect children, who will protect you—and when he was at his strongest and most powerful, his question left the Guardians speechless. Word. When the children who still cling to the fairy tale dream say "I will protect", it is also the time when the guardians obtain the ultimate spiritual support. After that, it is logical for the guardians to defeat the evil nightmare. In fact, there is also a very moving scene in the film, that is, when there is only one child left in the world who still has a fairy tale dream, how does Frozen complete the duty of "guardian" and use his heart to continue to ignite children The beacon in the child's heart. For the child, his dream became a reality; for the frozen man, he was recognized by others. Protecting children's dreams is protecting themselves after all.

But the question is, why was only frozen people able to complete this task at that time? When the little boy begged the Easter bunny toy in his hand to reveal its magic, if it weren't for the frozen man, any other guardian would be able to guard the little boy's fairy tale dream. The irreplaceability of Frozen is not very clear, he just appeared there first, and it is cool to use ice flowers to depict Easter eggs. Throughout the whole film, the protagonist of Jack Frozen is just a character with a story, but it is hardly a character with character. He just has super powers like other superheroes and is happy to solve problems for everyone, but as a loner, he began to be reluctant to join the group until he found his own life experience in the development of the story, and that's it .

Compared with other films of DreamWorks Animation, almost all the jokes in the film come from the jokes of a few joke characters, either rustling cuteness, or funny little gimmicks of Santa's subordinates, such as "Shrek". There's little to no deep humor due to Shrek's charisma. This can't help but say it's a pity. This may be one of the reasons why some foreign film critics commented that the film "stops watching by children".

Magic themes are rarely seen in cartoons in recent years. There is no doubt that the biggest capital of the Guardian League is endless action scenes and gorgeous pictures, so it is not so much a cartoon as a gorgeous action movie suitable for adults to watch. In the plot The "delieve" in terms of reasoning is not enough and the dark plot may not be suitable for children, but the full New Year atmosphere and all kinds of cute things made the whole movie theater laugh many times, very beautiful
