A weak light blew the horn

"Sea Mist" has the same era background as "Yellow Sea", and has a similar human opposition to the latter. However, "Sea Mist" is not as stable as "Yellow Sea" as it has a steady story line and strong tension in character performances, which has a lot to do with the slightly smaller overall story pattern of "Sea Mist". The strength of Korean films lies in their ability to stably control the overall scheduling of the story and at the same time cleverly reveal the point of human nature. "Sea Mist" is only slightly fine, but it is difficult to be a model.

A large web of financial crisis becomes the background of the story. The film begins with a leisurely fisherman working and resting on a dilapidated deck. The misplaced sea season makes the fishermen living at the bottom of society miserable. They finally find fish and are about to cast the bright red fishing net, but because the novice fisherman The mistake caused the net to break and the fish to run away, which fits the background of the story's embarrassment.

The entire storyline basically takes place on this dilapidated "Forward". This old boat, rippling from the setting sun at the beginning of the film to sinking into the sea in the sea fog at the end of the film, finally failed to lead the destitute crowd out of the sea fog. The development line of human nature is almost closely linked to the main line of the story, and there is no deviation at all. This is the most successful point of "Sea Mist".

The captain played by Kim Yoon-shik has a failed family background, and the "Advance" is its full spiritual support, but the dismal harvest makes him hovering on the verge of losing the "Advance". In order to lead everyone to keep the "Advance", in the end, they took the risk and chose a lost way like being in the fog. After the wave when the ship goes out to sea, the story environment will turn into a narrow hull, with a huge outer frame of the sea, but there is an invisible line of separation.

The sea fog appeared, and human nature gradually changed from ordinary goodness to numbness and evil.

Darkness, greed, numbness, cruelty, all kinds of human poisonous gas spread out with the thick fog, and each boatman represents a different element of human nature. "Sea Mist" once again made people see Jin Yunshi who raised a big axe, still expressionless and insensitive, chopping human flesh like a pile of pork. From the captain's order, the ignorance, greed, and dissatisfaction of several starters were drawn. A spark of love at first sight led to the sublimation of the opposition of human nature. When the main line of human nature was cut into two paths from the previous one, the ending had an answer in an instant - that weak beam of human nature blew away the shrouded in this. Suppressing the sea fog over the dark world, sounded the horn to advance for love, and finally reground. And as another ignorant guest on the lost way, they all sank into the sea with the boat.

The rhythm of the main line of the story is just right, and there is a degree of urgency. There are some loopholes in the second half of the climax. The characters in the whole film are too humanistic, but the inner drama seems very monotonous, and the corner of Jin Yunshi loses many of the characteristics of the characters themselves. The emotional drama of the male and female protagonists is far-fetched, and the characters are not enough. Compared with "Yellow Sea", which is completely black and human, "Sea Mist" is more disciplined and joins a kind branch, but it also loses a lot of color. The production method of the whole film is the former's routine and quite satisfactory.

In "Sea Mist", there is not a single most primitive dark spot. What is dark is the big net woven by the background of the times. The bottom group is like a fish caught in the net, lost its direction, lost its hope, and struggled to the death. There is no escape from the fate of the net. The cruelty of human nature has no bounds. When the sea fog is broken, the faint light of human nature flows into the real but cruel world. It is an indelible designation and a kind of spiritual hope.
