At the beginning of the film, General Hammer went to the cemetery to visit his wife. When the general encountered the burial team, the coffins were covered with American flags, and he couldn't help but arouse the injustice that there was no compensation for the fallen men. The rain was pouring, and the general confided in front of his wife's tombstone, "There are things that I can only do after you pass away. No matter what happens, don't look down on me."
Soldiers, wives, tombstones, kisses, have to think of Montgomery. Montgomery had only loved his wife in his entire life. When they first met, the woman who would later become his wife was already a widow with two children. Later, his wife died of illness, Montgomery refused to marry again, "tears are not the only way to express love, loyalty is the best proof of love." From the beginning of this scene, I feel that General Hammer is a positive character.
Next, the general led a sneak attack on the gunpowder depot, robbed the deadly gas bomb, and placed it on an uninhabited island to negotiate with the government. The government is required to pay a ransom of 100 million US dollars, of which 83 million will be paid to the families of the soldiers who died in action, and the remaining money will be paid to the soldiers who participated in the operation. Gas bombs and uninhabited islands have complex terrain. So far, the heroine has appeared on the scene, with biochemical weapons expert Gusby and the imprisoned British agent Mason. Mason was imprisoned for more than 30 years because he refused to disclose the information he collected—the whereabouts of a roll of film. He once escaped from the prison on an uninhabited island, so he was selected as a commando to rescue the hostages.
Sure enough, it is Michael Bay's style, and the film has a climax everywhere. Not long after Gusby and Mason met, they started a drag racing tour on the streets of San Francisco. And Mason deliberately escaped just to meet his daughter, whom he hadn't seen in more than ten years. After seeing his daughter, Mason looked at a loss. "I have thought about seeing what you said many times, but when I saw you, I was still speechless." Mason, as the world's top agent, seemed at a loss at this moment, and the warmth of a father was revealed. Just as Mason was about to rebuild his father-daughter relationship, the police car screamed, and his daughter suspected that Mason had escaped from prison again. As a result, Gusbee relieved Mason and said that he was working for the FBI.
Climax One: The
commando sneaked into the prison of the famous island but was unfortunately found. The two sides confronted each other, and General Hammer asked the commando captain to give an order to lay down their weapons.
"I'm General Hammer, put down your weapons!"
"I am Lieutenant Colonel Anderson, General, and I am the captain of the task force. We know your motives. God is above. I fully agree with you, but I have sworn to defend the motherland and destroy the enemy like you, whether he is a foreigner or
My countrymen ! General, we have all sprinkled our blood on the same land...""We are condescending, and you have been surrounded on all sides. Colonel, if you cherish the lives of your brothers, then lay down your arms ! " "
I would never issued this command! follow the general soldiers, you have not all swear allegiance to the motherland in the Marine Corps? we are like brothers, brothers die in the battlefield while their soul was regarded as the Pentagon Shit, but this does not give you the power to betray..."
This is the most infectious segment of the film. General Hammer was a benevolent man, and he did not shoot these soldiers directly. But his new partner, Captain Dannoll, deliberately knocked down the brick, and the gunshots went into chaos. The general's "ceasefire" had no effect. Looking at the corpses and blood all over the floor, General Hammer silently closed the eyes of a commando.
The second climax:
Mason and Gusby survived because they hadn't drilled the underground passage, but they still had to look for the hidden gas missile. After discovering the presence of commandos, General Hammer used the hostages to ask the commandos to exchange the stolen chips. Mason went alone, leaving more time for Gusby to dismantle the gas missile.
Agent Mason walked past the hostage cell and came to the general. The two veterans started confronting each other: General Hammer told Mason why he did this, but Mason said, "I don't think that killing another innocent one million people is to miss them and respect them." General Hammer firmly believed in Jefferson’s famous saying. The flower of freedom needs to be watered frequently with the blood of patriots and tyrants. But Mason uttered Wilde's famous saying that patriotism is an evil virtue. General Hammer knocked down Mason, but Mason said, "Thank you for proving my point."
Knowing that the chip has been destroyed, General Hammer imprisoned Mason and Gusby. From this point, Mason discovered that General Hammer was a real soldier, and he didn't kill innocent people indiscriminately.
Climax three:
Mason escaped easily and freed Gusby. At the same time they discovered that the enemy had started infighting.
As General Hammer changed the direction of the missile at the last minute to avoid huge casualties, and at the same time announced the end of the mission, he would stay alone to bear the consequences. Captain Danno, who didn't get the money, betrayed the general, and forced the general's deputy, Captain Baxter, to choose between the general and them. In order to rescue the general, Captain Baxter died in the melee, and the general was also seriously injured. In the whole play, Captain Baxter didn't have many roles, but his dying last sentence "I feel infinite honor to serve with you, General." It is unforgettable for many audiences.
Before the general died, he told the location of the last poisonous gas missile, and the disaster was avoided. At the end of the movie, Agent Mason escaped from prison and gained freedom, and Gusby should have become famous, and they have all lived happily ever since. However, it did not mention whether the rights and interests that General Hammer fought for those who died were realized, even if a close-up of the tombstone of General Hammer and his wife was given to show the country's recognition of him and respect for his pursuit.
Agent Mason is actually no different from General Hammer's dead men, who were treated unfairly. He used to be a British agent. The theft of secrets was later discovered. The British immediately denied his identity, so he became an unidentified person and was detained by the American authorities. Right and wrong, who can distinguish so clearly? Mason himself aspires to be a poet or a farmer, facing the sea, the spring blossoms, getting married and having children and dying silently, a life of dull and happy life. It's like the father of AK-47 regretted having invented the AK-47 rifle, and would rather invent a lawn mower.
Our saying goes, "Good iron does not nail nails, and good people do not serve as soldiers." We used to think that children who cannot be disciplined by their parents will be sent to the army. In this movie, we also understand why a good person does not serve as a soldier. Involuntary, just execute orders. Politics is dirty. Like General Hammer, thousands of people are just a tool to achieve the goals of politicians. They still think this is a noble, glorious, and great mission. Regarding a patriot, what is a patriot? Our country always uses patriotism education to explain and act on this. As a result, a large number of "patriots" who forcefully smash Japanese cars in order to boycott Japanese goods have emerged.
"Face Fighter" is still a story based on personal grievances, while "Break into Death Island" is a work from the standpoint of the country and the group, and the whole movie is full of energy in one go. If you compare the "Transformers" series from this movie, Michael Bay's level is seriously degraded. One reason for degradation is enough, that is, he doesn't love Transformers. Before "Break into Death Island", the status of international directors was not stable. They were still in the stage of fighting, and the film still had to be filmed carefully. Now that you have become famous, you have nothing to worry about, just pat and pat. Michael Bay, your sister!
