great

I finally understand that Mr. Lincoln is a tall, humorous, real gentleman with lofty ideals and aspirations. The movie conveys a lot of positive energy, and it is very exciting to watch. Classic lines: "I found out about the compass when I was surveying. It will point you to the direction of true north, but it will not point out the swamps, deserts and deep pits that you will encounter along the way. If you are on the way to pursue your goal, you are going forward and don't pay attention. The obstacles are difficult, and you can't get anywhere except in a swamp, so what's the use of knowing the true north."

Better than expected. In recent years, Spielberg's works are very ordinary. Because this script was written by Tony Kushner, it is a lot of wonderful. It is estimated that he was also invited to perform the surgery to show the current stalemate faced by the same-sex marriage bill and medical reform in the United States. Tommy Lee Jones and James Spader are great, not losing to Lewis. I never liked Sally Field's performances, but fortunately there is not much interference.

Last year, a "War Horse" made me give me a "craftsmanship" comment on the current director Steven Spielberg, but it was the same as the main drama, the film gave me a great shock, and this shock was not only due to Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones are three old dramas, but the film is no longer full of deliberate design like the former, but unmistakable. This is the real strength of the master.

Lincoln quotes

  • Mary Todd Lincoln: You think I'm ignorant of what you're up to because you haven't discussed this scheme with me as you ought to have done? When have I ever been so easily bamboozled? I believe you when you insist that amending the Constitution and abolishing slavery will end this war. And since you're sending my son into the war, woe to you if you fail to pass the amendment.

  • Mary Todd Lincoln: No one has ever lived who knows better than you the proper placement of footfalls on treacherous paths.
