So when my daughter was young, I never read Andersen to her, because my own reading experience discouraged me. Andersen was beautiful but built such a gloomy world. Every scene is the darkness of society and despair. Faintly bright. Tried to read Thumbelina as a safe story for them, but as soon as it started, they were startled by the corpse and cried. At the age of 2 and a half, they began to be sensitive to "death", and they still couldn't accept it. So, I never read Andersen again after that. Andersen really didn't write for children.
The handling of death in neverland is beautiful, and walking into neverland, which is full of rich colors, is a paradise in the heart of a child. This can accommodate the next child who does not want to grow up, a child who is neglected.
I prefer an open ending. The two people gradually become transparent on the bench, and they have infinite reverie. Neverland or grow up, or in the future, the
dialogue in the play, and the child's question about death, no one can answer.
The fairy tale world relies on a believing heart and an imaginative eye. Fairy tales are also our weapons against the loneliness, boredom and dullness of everyday life.
