You can watch this movie, the key is the mentality.
Don't read it as sci-fi. When choosing the label, you didn't choose "Sci-Fi", but you saw "Fantasy" and thought it was more appropriate. It is hard to imagine that after human civilization has developed to the point of freely completing interstellar voyages and space immigration, it will be chased around by a group of monsters who have no special ability and only rely on claws and teeth to make a move. Can the current technology suppress it?
Of course, don't look at it as an action movie. An indispensable element for the establishment of an action movie is actually the opponent. Who is the opponent in this film? In fact, the little boy's opponent is himself, so what actions are there to talk about? In terms of the actual visual effect, what the guy does more is actually extreme sports, such as parkour, wingsuit flying, rock climbing, diving... It's a sports movie, isn't it more appropriate?
It is actually a bit far-fetched to say that it is a family film, or even a literary fan. In the part of literary drama, Old Smith didn't have much room to play, his face was sullen and very limited, and he had to pretend to be in a coma to squeeze out some scenes; little Smith was still a little immature after all, but maybe immature was right. Anyway, the emotional part, the film is very hard to say what should be said and do what should be done, but according to the main setting of this film, it can be shown to this extent.
It's okay to spit out, but despite this, I still give this film four stars, I recommend it.
Because it's pretty comfortable to watch.
People didn't advertise their tallness or even literary style. Of course, I didn't pay attention to the propaganda of the film, I just didn't find such an intention from the film itself.
In the final analysis, people are a little suspenseful, a little thriller, a little sci-fi, a little special effects, the scenery is good, the photography is good, they talked about the future, returned to their hometown, and fulfilled such a comfortable and harmless film of the father-son relationship. If you don't look at it with a critical eye, people are still working hard for the relaxation and pleasure of the audience. Pretty good, right?
What I admire is here. They are making a commercial and entertainment movie. The simplest core theme is not so much thought. Appearance, is something that can be taken out. Maybe this is the essence of Hollywood.
In terms of Hollywood genre films, I think it's simple enough. But I just want the earth to return to its original appearance after thousands of years of human tossing and calamity in the film. It is really beautiful. So if it can be proved that the film and nature are the same, then it can be simple and original and cute, which is really good.
