about love

If you regard him as a science fiction, there are not many bright spots. The film has a lot of space related to love, but it is pitiful.
At the beginning of the movie, Will added a shielded network at home so that the world of the two of them would not be disturbed. His wife, Evelyn, said it would be over if the phone was turned off. The beginning has been doomed, he loves her, he loves their home and life. However, a scientist who can't express his emotions can only prove that he loves her by destroying himself again.
Will transmits consciousness and thoughts to a computer before he dies. He has proved his theory by himself and realized the unity of man and machine. She was also convinced and guarded by his side. However, Will does not have a body. He uses his transcendence to communicate with his wife, showing how much he desires to communicate with his wife. However, he has not analyzed carefully through the computer, what kind of reflection will the result bring to his wife. That subject already stated that he manipulated the machine rather than the machine imitating him.
When Will's scientific achievements made some achievements, he and his wife invited people who didn't know them well to visit. Will is a scientist, he doesn't know how to publicize and plan events, he just wants more people to know their results. However, anti-science people tell Evelyn Weir is a machine and not a human, and he wants to use Evelyn to control the world. Evelyn was confused, but he didn't tell his husband his doubts because he was smarter than she was afraid he would lie to her. Our Will is even more convinced of Evelyn, convinced that she loves and believes in him. Will is helping his wife change the world with no feet, as long as she can stay by his side. Will saw his wife's unhappiness and wanted to please her. The sound of pots and pans made during dinner made his wife even more unhappy. Will would rather shut himself down.
Will can detect his wife's physical responses, and he'll tell her. After telling him the consequences, he did not go through careful analysis. The quantum computer can calculate it every second and let me make a decision. He just didn't analyze it, and just communicated with his wife through feelings.
Will uses regeneration technology to create his own body, he wants to hug his wife more or less, and what he sees is her panic and nervousness. The whole first half of the movie seems to be saying that Will uses his wife for the purpose of controlling the world. However, in the end it was discovered that all Will did was to please his wife and stay with her. I don't want to say the last few simple lines of dialogue, I know how distressed Will is when I think about it. If Will wanted to control the world, he could trick others into building several bases in the first place, rather than just using his wife.

He said outside turned a deaf ear
, then I said just now convinced, convinced his wife to Will himself convinced. It seems a bit confusing, but the truth is very simple, you believe in something or even someone, it is easy to do. If you're in jail for some reason and you don't do anything, a few people will be convinced that you didn't do anything.
Anti-science people are convinced that science will bring unforeseen consequences, and they even achieve their goals by means of assassination, kidnapping, and threats. What they do is actually what they oppose, but their influence is smaller. They feel that Will controls humans in order to achieve the purpose of controlling the world, although Will never kills a single person.
We assume that Wywell is an artificial intelligence, he has no human weakness, he believes in transcending (evolution) human beings, and for the sake of the whole world, he must first exterminate anti-scientific people, then he is no different from anti-scientific people.

This movie... The setting is very big, but because "both sides are not bad people", the conflict is a little light, and the overall feeling is a little tasteless. When the male protagonist's entity appeared again, my impression was: wow, 3D printing can be said to be able to move a life-size Johnny Depp! There must be many female fans who want to buy one and go back!

Generally speaking, after reading it carefully, you will comprehend a lot of things. Especially trust.

Transcendence quotes

  • [from the trailer]

Will Caster: [Distraught] You've changed... have you fallen out of love with me?

    Evelyn Caster: [Reassuring] No

    Will Caster: [Demanding] Have You?

  • Will Caster: It just doesn't make sense. They're afraid of technology because of it's threat to humanity. Yet, they don't flinch at taking a life. So, obviously, they're not big on logic; but, there's no shortage of irony.
