I watched both the IMAX and 2D versions one night, wondering what I would write about ?
Sometimes I think it’s a double-edged sword to read the novel first... On the one hand, I look forward to seeing my favorite characters and plots appear on the screen, on the other hand, I’m dissatisfied because I can’t see all the details and the deviation of the adaptation at the end = =... It’s really not easy for a book fan to do...
Movies and novels have too many plots in the front, and the final climax is very refreshing... Actually, they killed the heroine’s parents directly. After reading the book I have always been resentful...
Although the movie is 2 hours and 20 minutes, I still feel that a lot of clips have been cut, which makes the second half of the piece too strong and jumps too fast. It is estimated that there are many question marks in the minds of people who have never read the book.
Favorite clips:
1. Tris gave up Abnegation to join Dauntless and then followed Initiates all the way to run wildly feeling very cool, there is a kind of impulse that people want to join Dauntless together!
2. After Tris was beaten into the hospital by Peter, and heard that there was activity or desperate pursuit, Four stretched out half of his body on the train to watch her run. Nima, my little heart also followed all the way~ (IMAX works best)
3. When Tris got the victory flag on the lighthouse and waved it, heroism took my heart! I wish I could be a super heroine someday.... ;(
4. Ziplining feels like a roller coaster under the effect of IMAX! One word, cool! Theme Park developers can consider driving a theme roller coaster in Disney's Islands of Adventure Imitate this effect~~
5. Can the Four Throwing Knife be more handsome? The various facial movements and eyes make me want to laugh and think of booing... Even the 16-year-old cousin next to me can’t stand me anymore. (Typical fangirl thing...)
6. When Four showed his tattoo to Tris, Tris touched his back and he seemed to have been set on fire, Emma. . I started YY again...
7. It was so sexy that Four appeared in Tris's Fear Landscape in the Final Test. I heard that some sex scenes were cut out. . [Clarify, Tris is not a fear of sexual harassment but a fear of intimacy. She is afraid of intimacy because she has never seen her parents get close or be intimate with others. 】
8. When Tris’s mother came out to save her, she was really handsome, and the heroism added another stroke~ How could the author let her die so early? ?
9. When Tris finds the controlled Four, the fighting scene between the two is a love~ The boxing method is newly created, and the various intensity is amazing. For this Young Adults movie, it is more than enough~ But actually changed the scene to make Tris Confession, this makes me the king of vinegar Four. .
10. Leaving Dauntless at the end, Four pulled his dad onto the train and was about to pull Tris. Tris said I get it. Four said I know you get this and hugged her! Handsome, okay! ! ! [Scream. . .
11. Winslet's Jeanine is so beautiful, no one would be willing to hate her~~ When I saw her, I immediately gave NC five stars.
Lack of design:
1. There are too many bugs in the action design. It is often seen that there is movement but no physical contact. As a result, all people fall down ==
2. The soundtrack is a bit thin in the film, except for a few Very thrilling scene, others seem to be unable to keep up with the rhythm, especially the soundtrack of Pits always feels like it is in the pub... But then I went home and listened to the soundtrack, and I thought it was very good. [I am a conflicted fan tangled body...]
3. Unlike most of the comments, I quite like the rhythm in the front of the movie, but it suddenly happens too fast in the back, and the various scenes are connected to give a feeling of patchwork... Even though most of the shots I like are in the second half. . . .
4. I really don’t like the feeling that Tris has tears in her eyes many times but it just doesn’t fall out. It makes me feel uncomfortable... According to the book, it’s because she doesn’t want to cry in front of outsiders and makes her feel vulnerable, only in her mother. When Mi sacrificed for her, she was in pain and moved me. And when Dad died, she was calm and too fast, which is also the feeling that the movie did not perform well ==. Don't even mention the resentment of ignoring so many important details when leaving the city by train in the end.
5. Can the soy sauce scene for Jeanine be better and tougher? ? ? But maybe you have to take care of Kate when I was filming. I was still pregnant for 5 months...
6. There are several more important or special plots that were not included in the movie, which made me very resentful for the book fans, and some adaptations are also Very strange, for example, the 7 fears of Tris turned into 5 in the movie == unacceptable.
Many people compare this book/movie with The Hunger Games. This is inevitable. After all, they are all dystopian themes. Except for the similar design of the heroine and the big boss, the two stories are still very different. Personally, I feel that the first novel is a variant of Harry Potter and Hunger Games. The society is divided into five factions. When children are 16 years old, they have to take a test and decide their own factions. This design will unconsciously associate with the design of the four colleges in HP. But Divergent is also different in that the romance plot is also very touching, which obviously makes fangirls fall into the net one after another.
However, I personally appreciate the classification of these 5 factions: Abnegation, Dauntless, Erudite, Candor, and Amity. These are some of the precious qualities of human nature. Why should one choose or become a pie? This in itself is not favored by human nature, so there will be Divergent. Such people can think in multiple ways, possess the qualities of various factions, and are true heroes. So I also want to be that kind of person, I want to be brave, selfless, intelligent, honest, and kind. This spirit is the thought that this YA novel will convey to young people. There is also the sentence Fear doesn't shut you down, it wakes you up. As a teenager, I just want to have this kind of incentive to challenge fear and anxiety.
Film adaptations of Young Adults novels are so popular nowadays, it is inevitable that this kind of film effect will be compared with previous very successful creations. Maybe Divergent does not have the box office of Hunger Games, or the fan effect and success of Twilight and Harry Potter, but it is still very successful compared to the YA film adaptation. Our world needs more positive energy, it's that simple.
