The real historical background of the film

There are mainly two sources: The first is the case of the International Commercial Credit Bank (BCCI). BCCI is a Pakistani bank. Found to be used to support terrorism, criminal organizations and drug lords, U.S. Senator Kerry has led the investigation into the CIA's illegal financing of American anti-communist armed forces since the late 1980s, and finally found that the CIA manipulated Noriega and others through the bank to oppose activities, suspected of drug trafficking and money laundering. A similar series of investigations culminated in the bank's closure. http://book.sina.com.cn/longbook/1098855940_kelizhuan/71.shtml The second is the Banco Ambrosiano case. The letter was founded in Italy by an Italian bank that was found to be engaged in providing donations to politicians, providing money laundering services for the Mafia, providing financial channels for the Vatican to fund the Catholic opposition in Eastern Europe, and financing the Sandino Armed Front in Nicaragua, among others. The bank chairman was found hanged under London's Black Brothers Bridge at the climax of the investigation. The name of the murdered Italian arms dealer Umberto Calvini was probably inspired by Roberto Calvi, chairman of Emblem.

So please smart people don't use conspiracy theories to bombard this film. Not everything you don't like and don't want to accept are conspiracy theories.

  • Wilhelm Wexler: We cannot control the things life does to us. They are done before you know it, and once they are done, they make you do other things. Until at last everything comes between you and the man you wanted to be.
