The most touching and shocking scene in the movie is the arson at the Mildred Police Station. Watching the burning of three billboards, she was filled with resentment and anger, which made her feel more hateful than the unsolved rape and murder case of her daughter. Before the arson, she had been calling the police station until it was confirmed that no one at the police station started throwing burning wine bottles. This action was quick and natural. The phone rang once and again, allowing the audience to confirm that Mildred is not a madman who is frantic and hated, nor is it a hypocritical person who tolerates integrity and is full of love. Inside the police station surrounded by raging flames is Dixon who is reading Willoughby’s suicide note. In his earphones, he reads "When the sincere heart is withered, and the one you love is gone, who would want to stay alone in this desolate world?" ", so he has not heard Mildred's warning call. Dixon, a violent policeman, would throw innocent advertisers downstairs. However, Willoughby told him in his suicide note: What you really need is love. Only through love can you achieve inner peace. I have always been a good person in my heart. When he realized that he was in the fire, he was talking fuck while stuffing the Angela rape case file on the table into his clothes. Mildred saw Dixon full of fire and the case file next to her. At that moment, she reached a settlement with Dixon in her heart. For a few minutes, love is surrounded by hate, love rushes out of hate, and embraces the friendly heart of the opposite person who was originally an enemy and may be a friend tomorrow.
Despicableness and greatness, viciousness and kindness, hatred and love can exist in the same heart without repelling each other. "Moon and Sixpence" Humanity is not perfect
