The century from the early nineteenth century to 1914 was the century when Europe gradually entered the peak of power. The ratio increases to 7:1. The Titanic sank with people's boundless confidence and longing for the industry for a hundred years. Since 1914, when World War I broke out, the whole of Europe also flourished and declined, and began to decline.
The two main lines of the whole play are the marriage of Mary, who has attracted much attention due to the limited inheritance rights, and the tradition of Downton Abbey that has been subtly impacted in the background of the times. And these two can be attributed to one thing, and that is the cusp of "Time to change". To put it bluntly, it is as difficult for a picky aristocratic girl to choose a husband as for a proud aristocratic manor to cultivate an heir. The girl is in her prime but aging will inevitably come, and the manor is lush but changes may happen suddenly. They stand at a turning point in their fate, and the story is gripping because of it.
Lady Mary finally fell in love with her eldest cousin after the thousands of sails passed, but she missed it. This is the bridge of a vulgar romance, but after connecting the fate of the entire manor, it brings a completely different feeling to the audience. It is also a good place for harem dramas. Lady Mary is not unsuccessful emotionally. Not to mention her dead fiancé, the British ambassador, the Turkish ambassador, old Anthony and her cousin all fall in love with her. In contrast, Lady Edith is a bit miserable. She can only pick her sister. The rest are still bumping into walls, no wonder she finally wants to destroy her sister psychopathically. Lady Mary's willfulness in love is like Downton Abbey's adherence to tradition, which is outstanding, but this is also the reason for her ultimate tragedy and the dilemma of the entire manor. At the beginning of the First World War, despite the fact that the parties in London were already fraught with turmoil, it was impossible for the country nobility to take the initiative to demand change. If Lady Mary hadn't hesitated to agree to Matthew's marriage proposal, the ending would have been turned upside down, but this wait... as the so-called "streamer is easy to throw people away", in a blink of an eye, the manor owner found that he couldn't even enter his study, just because the maid was in it interview.
The first three episodes of the seven episodes in the first season are amazing, and the last four episodes are gradually becoming clichés. However, there are many flesh and blood characters that still appeal to my heart, Lordship, Lady Sybil, Bates, Anna, Matthew. I like to watch the old lady and Mrs.Crawley's opposite play, Thomas and Mrs. Octopus want to be together. Finally, if there is a copycat version of this play, the master must let Zeng Zhiwei play it.
