The plot seems to be locked here. Undoubtedly on the current timeline in the film, Roy is always on the bench facing the lawyer and the doctor. Looking back at the whole story, however, two conjectures can be made.
One is as the ending presents itself directly. Aaron never existed. Roy from the start, inherently cold, vicious, and scheming. Such a person filming sex videos for the bishop for a long time is like a big bug of the screenwriter. Maybe he just silently endured and plotted when the time was not up. It's also possible that he didn't feel particularly humiliated at all when filming those things, but pretended to be a little sheep with ridicule, disdain, and the pleasure of deceiving the bishop. Art.
He has created another soul without leakage, tricking others with his horrific devilish talents, showing off himself, and having no heart for others or himself. He carefully planned the murder process, but hastily dealt with the aftermath and escape. The appearance of the barrister was an unexpected life-saving straw, he immediately grasped it keenly, and led the guy who thought he had seen countless people to dance a dance that cooperated with tacit understanding; but if it was a postulate with an annual salary of 40,000 yuan. What about lawyers? He will probably also use some other means to enjoy the process of the contest.
Another possibility is that at the other end of time, that Aaron with soft eyes and hair really existed. His dull, dazed, ascetic breath was exposed in this hypocritical and ugly world, and he suffered rounds of abuse and smearing. He had cried and pleaded as Roy later described. No one else listens, only himself, until he's completely transformed into Roy (not the duality he pretends to be).
No matter what kind of speculation is based, the days with the bishop should have greatly catalyzed and solidified Roy's existence - he said, the bishop is like my father.
These two speculations seem to be looking at whether human nature is inherently evil or not. But what is the difference between them in essence? Regardless of whether Roy is the cause or the effect as an individual, the final presentation of the entire world is the same, full of fishy clouds and airtight. Bishops sexually abuse minors, officials use their power for personal gain, lawyers make money by exonerating people, and scholars testify rashly. In the end, the lawyer's sympathy for Aaron was seen through by Roy and used it thoroughly.
Roy said, love hurts. All the benevolence, kindness, and perseverance of the sparks are not enough to build a promise that runs through.

This drama was recommended and spoiled 800 times by various friends of mine as early as 800 years ago. The amazing thing is that I knew the plot, but I forgot to watch it, and I shuddered in the last five minutes. Uncle Nuo's debut performance is amazing, but compared to Aaron's natural, Roy is still a little bit sculpted, and scolding f*ck is not as natural as in his later films...-_-#
