The boy grows by seeing the other side of love through three storylines (parents divorce, Mud and Juniper's final breakup, and his ignorant love).
The beautiful Juniper, though in love with Mud, is a loving nomad by nature. Mud, who was forced to be trapped on the island, finally smiled at her.
The father's sense of responsibility for the family carries the love for his wife and children. Even at the end of the film, he still takes care of his son and his mother. The film is full of men's interpretations of love, including the old man whose wife and child died in childbirth.
In general, the film depicts the story of the difficult life of the American people in the south-central United States and the Mississippi Valley in the cracks of urbanization. Through the friction between love and reality, it finds the point of intensification of contradictions and pushes the film to a climax. The shooting technique is mature and steady, the undercurrent is surging in the calm progress, and the soundtrack controls the film's emotions just right.
Last but not least, Matthew McConaughey. He made 6 films in the year and a half from the beginning of 2011 to the middle of 2012. In addition, there were Newsboy, Bernie, Killer Joe, Magic Mike, and Lincoln Lawyer. The interpretation of the characters is more delicate than the other, I recommend everyone to watch it.
When the Oscar enters the final voting stage, I wish it the best actor.
