basic human nature

Woody Allen is always so charming. Looking at his works, I feel that there is drama (comedy) everywhere in life.
He writes about others, and those who read them also see their own shadows.
So easy and not painful. Ridiculous, sarcastic.
The two sisters in this film are vain, fickle, exaggerated, hypocritical, cowardly, selfish, angry, and jealous. . .
He always captures basic humanity.
And he is one of the few directors who still maintain the film length to an hour and a half.
I think this is good.

The film was a bit broken at first, and the time-space crossing was too frequent to make it a little uncomfortable to watch. By the second half, the film stuck. very attractive.
Did Jasmine hook up with the embassy man and start her life again?
The reversal before the end is a bit surprising but also makes sense.

It's okay to say that "The Ballad of Drunken Township" and "Thunderbolt" are "not enough Cohen", why is this film not "Woody Allen"? All the neuroticism, chatter, sarcasm, hypocrisy are all there. In addition, Sally Hawkins' acting is really good, but whoever plays the role of Kate can probably seal the rhythm.

People always step into the same river again and again.

Blue Jasmine quotes

  • Dr. Flicker: Have you ever gotten high on nitrous oxide?

    Jasmine: No.

Dr. Flicker: It would remove your inhibitions.

Jasmine: I don't really have any inhibitions.

  • Jasmine: Can you please not fight in here? I don't think I can take it. For some reason, my Xanax isn't kicking in.
