Mandela's value

Born as a Chinese, many parts of the movie made me feel the same, and my blood boiled. Weiguang just won't be in such a movie, it's too lethal to them. Not long after the film started, Mandela stood in front of the government and said to the crowd, "This is not our government, because we don't have the right to vote, and they were not elected by us." Who would stand in front of the Xinhua Gate and say that they would enter the classroom immediately if they were so traumatized by the truth about the universe? Mandela did not. He entered after organizing a series of events later. It can be seen that the dictatorship of the Celestial Dynasty is much more ruthless, more evil, and much more dictatorial than that of South Africa.
The most touching part of the film is not the first two parts: before going to prison, in prison, but the last part, negotiating with the government about the conditions for getting out of prison and how to restore the torn South Africa after coming out. This mission can only be accomplished by forward-thinking politicians. I don't like Mythical Man, and Mandela is not a god. He often betrayed his wife before he was imprisoned, so he is not a god, but a man. It is precisely because he is a human being that he can achieve such foresight and insight, and such generosity, so he is worthy of the admiration of future generations. It can be said that De Klerk came to negotiate with him, because if he insists on not reconciling, then South Africa will be torn apart forever, hatred and revenge will be endless loop, Mandela has every reason to choose not to reconcile. But he told De Klerk that I wanted more than revenge, that I wanted peace, that I wanted freedom. If I do not reconcile, we will inevitably rule with fear, and fear will inevitably lead to despotism, dictatorship, hatred. We don't need such a society.

It is Mandela's value to be able to jump out of one's own interests, focus on the future of the entire country, and firmly believe that only democracy and freedom can be the ultimate goal of human society. But who among them has the foresight and courage? I doubt!

Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom quotes

  • Nelson Mandela: I have walked a long walk to freedom. It has been a lonely road, and it is not over yet. I know that my country, was not made to be a land of hatred. No one is born hating another person because the color of his skin. People learn to hate. They can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart.
