The humanity and life that you and I know

Watching this film is very cordial. I went to VLCC in person, heard stories about pirates from seafarers, and understood the technical terms in seconds, all made me feel that the filming was really very real, and in the end I realized that it was a real story in itself. And this story has to make every audience feel a little heavy. Because good and evil seem so distinct, but they are actually very vague. Humanity, humanity, is such a great knowledge, sometimes it seems incomprehensible. Between life and life, how unfair is at the beginning, there is also how subtle the difference between force and violence, and force. I have some sympathy for the pirates. Even in real life, I sympathize with the seamen very much. The word earning a living in this world is really much harder for some people. If we don't do it ourselves, we can't appreciate the hardship. No wonder a former captain in London was so angry at my request. In fact, life and humanity that we can probably think of, because a movie shows so clearly. I realized that the more so ugly and fragile, the more loving people and humanity it takes, and how necessary it is.

Captain Phillips quotes

  • Captain Richard Phillips: Listen up. We have been boarded by four armed pirates. You know the drill. We stay hidden no matter what. I don't want any hostages. We stay locked down until help arrives. No one comes out until you hear the non-duress password from me which is "suppertime."

    Maersk Alabama Crewman: Jesus.

Captain Richard Phillips: If the pirates find you, remember, you know this ship. They don't. Make them feel like they're in charge but keep them away from the important things like the generator and the engine controls. Stick together... and we'll be all right. Good luck.

  • Captain Richard Phillips: There's gotta be something other than being a fisherman and kidnapping people.

Muse: Maybe in America, Irish. Maybe in America.
