Whether love is beautiful or not depends on your own experience

Ellis and his good friend Neck found a broken boat, but a man took it first. In order to get the boat, they agreed that they would give him food, and when he waited for his friend, he left, and the boat would belong to them. With the contact, they knew that Mud was waiting for his beloved girlfriend, killed someone in order to avenge his girlfriend, and hid on this island in order to avoid the pursuit. But the police stopped him on the road and he could only walk by water, so the boat had to be repaired. He told a very touching story, and Ellis, who was full of love, agreed to help him get the boat into the water. During this period, an older girl he liked kissed him in a joke, and he really regarded her as his girlfriend. When the boat is repaired, Ellis picks up Mud's girlfriend as agreed, only to find her going to a bar to have an affair with another man. Then he sent Mud a breakup letter, and his own girlfriend took his words as a joke. In the face of all love failing, he lashes out at Mud, calling him a liar. Falling into the snake pit, Mud took him to the hospital despite the danger, and said goodbye to his girlfriend. In the evening Mud ran to Ellis' bedside to say goodbye. Unexpectedly, the man who pursued him killed him, Mud was injured and fled, and was rescued by Tom, and the two sailed on the Mississippi River in a repaired boat. The houseboat was demolished, and Ellis moved into town with his mother, where he met a girl who loved to laugh.
Neck adores Ellis like his uncle said. Because Ellis is calmer and more sophisticated than him when he is in trouble. For example, the first time Mudde's girlfriend read the letter they sent, Neck opened his mouth and said, "We've seen it." He said twice, "Is Tom Mud's dad?" The first time Ellis said "I don't know." The second time he asked Tom directly, it was too simple.
Both Mud's girlfriend and Toms said Mud was a liar, and maybe there was a false element in the story he told, in order to trick the two boys into helping him. But in order to pursue the girl he liked when he was in his teens, he went all over the country to dress up, avenge her, and even kill her, which shows that he really loves her. His girlfriend just didn't like him, she always believed the scumbag's sweet words, then fell for it, and then Mud avenged her. Maybe she really loved her at some point, but the only thing she loves most is herself. Even if Mud wanted to take her around the world, she didn't want to live a wandering life. Those who only give and take only will fail in the end. Tom lives alone because he has lost the woman he loves and the unborn child. I am not advocating his approach, but if you really love someone, you will do it.
Mud didn't die at the end of the film, Tom saved him. Not too tragic.
