elder brother

In the movie "Lawless", the main idea is that two very NB older brothers are protecting a rough and naive younger brother.
There are only two shots in the film, which made me react a little bit when I watched it. One is that when the weak third brother was beaten, he said to the person who beat him, I will tell my brother, he will kill you. The second scene is that after the third brother was beaten, the beater came to the door to shout, and then was beaten to death by the boss, saying, "You try to beat my brother again, eh?".
The first scene is the most common scene among Chinese people. As soon as you are beaten, you will say, wait, I will find my brother or someone else to beat you. The second shot is a refreshing vent.
I have a brother who is 9 years older than me and I never said "you wait, my brother will kill you" when I was beaten, but I believe if I was beaten, my brother would beat that guy too Half dead, and then tell him "Do you still dare to beat my brother?"
This is a kind of adoration for his brother, or just a lack of self-confidence in himself.

Authentic, shocking, this type of film is my favorite.

Tax resistance is the only way to go regardless of the underworld. Look, the protagonist can't be shit, and it's dangerous to be a supporting role.

Lawless quotes

  • Forrest Bondurant: What I'm trying to say is, the course of your life it is changing. You don't even see it.

Mugger #2: What are you talkin' bout?

[Forrest punches him with iron knuckles, knocking mugger unconscious]

Howard Bondurant: Yeah, that's what he's talking' bout.

Howard Bondurant: [Looking at a shocked Jack Bondurant] You alright there, Jack?

Jack Bondurant: Caught me off guard is all.

Howard Bondurant: You still good to drive?

    [Forrest laughs]

    Jack Bondurant: Fuck you, Howard.

  • Jack Bondurant: [narrating] My brother Forrest once said, "Nothing can kill us. We can't never die."The reason being that in the great war, my eldest brother, Howard, saw his entire battalion drown in the sea. Every last one of them. He was the only survivor.

Jack Bondurant: And Forrest, well, that same year, Spanish Lady flu hit Franklin, damn near wiped out the entire state. It got Ma and Pa and Forrest but against all the odds, he somehow managed to fight it off. So you could see why Forrest felt that way.

Jack Bondurant: Me and my brothers are moonshiners. Bootleggers. In 1920, they passed the Prohibition Act making the sale of alcohol illegal. Well, at least it was supposed to be.
