The music is not bad, the blockbuster is average, William Tell is very good.
In acting, Tonto is not like an Indian, and the first half of John is like a mentally handicapped version of Batman. Law or something appears in Western films, which is very out of tune. After realizing it, it finally becomes normal. The characters have no depth, and Tonto keeps talking about killing evil creatures, but throws the dirty work on John every time. People don't understand, Indians don't avoid killing, right? Of course, as a summer entertainment film, we don't have to make too much demands on the depth of the characters, which is barely passable.
The plot is actually difficult. First of all this has to be a PG-13 film, so there shouldn't be too much violence and the tone has to be comedy. But the background of the story is set in the dark period when the colonists adhere to the "Manifest Destiny" to occupy the Indian territory, and the violence of "civilization" is inevitable (progress, civilization is repeatedly mentioned in the film, and the puritans sing hymns all the way to colonize the past, all of which are At that time, the world view of the white colonists might as well be compared to our current policy, which is far too far). In addition, probably in order to attract adult audiences, the director added a positive performance of gangsters eating people, and American soldiers killing Indians with Gatling machine guns... The whole film looks very confusing. In the words of the film, something very wrong with that horse... The front just made you uncomfortable, and the back immediately made you laugh. Can the screenwriter and director take care of the audience's emotions?
The action scenes are very ordinary, not exciting at all, and can only be described as lame, but fortunately, there is also William Tell who cooperated with some chicken blood.
