Contrary to the magnificent and tragic title of "Twilight of the Gods", the film is easy and fun, and full of comics. It also officially announced that this Marvel second-line series has come to an end. Marvel now has a good card in his hand, and it is obviously easy to play. So they dare to play deconstruction and play comedy, and even dare to use newcomers from TV series or independent films like Russell Brothers and the film director. The mix and match styles of myth, fantasy, and science fiction in this film are really not easy to control on the right path.
The first two scenes of the film were shot smoothly and freely. All sorts of spiritual humor and cross-references were readily available. Even the originally boring arena scenes at the level of the drama were full of fun. It reminds me of the director’s fresh and funny "Eagle". And the shark. Of course, the other result is that in the film, except for Queen Hela, almost all the characters are harlequins. The ending scene is relatively mediocre, and it is no wonder the director: Marvel movies are now severely restricted in frame and must follow the overall picture. At the end, it is difficult to play with various care.
This is a fun and good-looking Marvel movie, but its structure and ideas do not really make me like it. It is a pity that "Twilight of the Gods" is a background with a sense of fatalism and a deep sense of tragedy. The desperate doomsday battle turned into a family conflict drama, and even Kenneth Branagh’s core of the first Shakespeare’s play was disintegrated. Then the ending is almost like grafting the part of "The Kingdom of Heaven"! (We defend this city, not to protect these stones, but the people living within these walls.)
I have to mention Master Blanchett, a professional queen! Although the character set is mediocre, the queen's aura is so strong that it will break out of the screen, which is unforgettable.
Finally, I would like to congratulate Brother Hammer on being marginalized & waiting for retirement. Also, the second egg at the end is Marvel's worst egg!
BTW, the Odin family trio is simply a combination of "hammer, scissors, and cloth"!
