I feel that dan knows more about anna than alice.
In the beginning, Dan and Alice broke into his childhood garden where he seemed to have lost his memory, saying that his mother died early and was a smoker. And Alice smokes, gets hurt, is young and needs to be protected. This triggers the trauma mechanism in Dan, and he wants to save Alice like he wants to save his mother. But in the nearly 4 years of getting along, Dan used his first impression to fall in love with Alice. It can be said that he never knew Alice, and Alice also said that he only knew a part of himself.
The first encounter between anna and dan, in the anna studio, dan broke into anna's world. It's public, formal and with some taboo romance, and anna doesn't reject kissing dan. Anna looks noble and strong, but in fact these are completely opposite to her inner cowardice and fear, because she is too fragile and self-hardened. Dan saw these, and these are the truest self in Anna's character. From then on Dan began to want to save her. I believe that Anna must be very much like Dan's mother.
I think Dan's inner naivety is more than the cowardice that is easily seen on the surface. A person who can express his cowardice is not actually cowardly. In the scene where dan and larry were in the hospital, he was able to cry in front of a man, and for a man, especially a man. It is the most difficult thing to let go of your dignity and truly face your hurt self, especially in front of a rival in love. He's so loyal to his heart that I gave this film five stars for his cry. Anyone can have fear, especially Dan who lost his mother in his early years, he is afraid of loneliness, he needs love too much, I believe his thirst for love is not something that can be judged by simple fake love or true love. He is thirsty for love, but can't accept things that make love dirty (of course, he thinks so), I guess he is asking for mother's love in disguise. But what amazes me is that every time he knows that the love in front of him is starting to become cloudy, the reaction he makes is a real human reaction - can't accept it, turn around and leave. In any case, he is truly facing his broken heart, and he is a person who tolerates himself. The question is, who can do it? Larry doesn't need analysis, his aggression and human self-deception & stupidity are nothing to evaluate. There are people like this everywhere who use seemingly rational and true lies to deceive themselves and hurt others.
In my outlook on life, deceiving yourself is the most terrifying thing. And larry did it! This character is very real and full. Good screenwriter!
In fact, anna is also such a person, so they will seem to be together in the end. In fact, I feel that these two "fakes" are really suitable lovers for each other. Anna has a melancholy mood. She refuses to face her true self. She is too smart. She covers up all the timidity in her heart. She packaged herself too well, but when she came to dan, everything collapsed. That's why she loves dan, because dan is such a real man, and she lacks all of these.
Let's talk about alice, freedom, this is my first feeling (often the first feeling is wrong). The second feeling is that, in fact, she and Dan have missed a true love. When she fell in love with dan, dan didn't love her because of understanding. And later, when dan tried to get to know her, she felt tired. I am grateful for this scene. Dan has always faced his cowardice. At the end of the story, Dan wants to try to be a dummy and try to accommodate Alice with lies, but Alice did not give her this opportunity. He finally slapped her out of anger.
Maybe I stayed up late and fainted. I didn't think about Alice's personality carefully. I feel like a very healthy girl. She loves herself and others. She has both advantages and disadvantages. She is a perfect script character.
Assumption: dan and alice are both men and women who are true to their hearts, so I probably understand what the screenwriter wants to say. The love is there, but maybe out of sync because they don't really understand each other. The absurd thing is, in fact, everyone is always alone, and true spiritual communication does not exist. The reason we communicate so hard is because of love, and love will bring harm...
Everyone will learn from the movie. When they see something they agree with, everyone will remember the picture they want to remember, and ignore the others. What I see is just what I see.
The original intention of writing this article is to get the recognition of human beings. Yay~ I try to communicate relentlessly, even though I know real communication doesn't exist.
