In this movie, his performance is not very good, so far I haven't seen him surpass Wuthering Heights' acting skills. He always suppresses his personality and can't keep a low profile anymore, so I really wanted to see him explode, but when he was about to shoot Rake at the end, he just fired a bullet but didn't even shoot a single bullet before he collapsed. On the ground, it's as frustrating as a man who has been suppressed for too long and failed before charging. Of course, the director will leave this outbreak to Shia LaBeouf. Shia LaBeouf performed well in this movie. Once again he played the impulsive lad who thankfully didn't run the train in the mouth of the Transformers. A timid and timid young man who did not dare to kill has grown into an adult who dares to take revenge and hate.
But what makes me feel that his acting is outstanding is Guy Pierce. Pierce, who was born in 1967, is already an old actor, but his age seems to have passed away very early. Looking at the other two leading actors in Los Angeles Confidential who have won awards without him, I don't seem to have seen any films starring him except for Memories that he is the leading actor. In this film, he played a cold-blooded executioner full of cleanliness with a personality, which is impressive. In fact, he has acting skills, but it is a pity that there has been no film that belongs to him and is favored.
Another character is the famous Gary Oldman. From the justice police in Batman to the underworld boss, since when did Oldman always play the role of Luye. You can see that most of the underworld bosses he plays are domineering, which is very different from the too quiet cops in Batman. He also has acting skills, better than Pierce, but why has he never won the Oscar or the Golden Globe Award? Does it have something to do with him always playing supporting roles? The closest it came to an Oscar was Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy in 2012, but he lost to the King's speech with no regrets.
A good actor, an actor with high acting skills will not necessarily win an Oscar. Sometimes what he lacks is a film that suits him, and luck.
