I don’t understand music, but I think this film is good

I saw a live musical before, the 25th anniversary concert, and some 10th anniversary concerts, and then the movie.
I’m a kind of person with poor music literacy. Except for those who can sing like the 25th anniversary of Marius and Claude’s Javert in the movie, who are really not good at singing, who else can sing well? I basically can’t hear it if the singing is not good. I read these versions with my low level of appreciation, and I have a few feelings.

1. When I watched the trailer, I knew that the 25th anniversary Epeni was going to appear in the movie. I was especially looking forward to it. I felt that she sang on my own at the 25th anniversary concert too. The details are handled very well. It feels good in the movie, but she feels that her face is more suitable for the frontal panoramic view with the lens zoomed out. In the film, the lens is always zoomed so close and the angle seems to be quite tricky. It feels that she has erased her characteristic beauty. A lot.

2. Anne Hathaway’s Fantine is very good, and I think the singing is also good. The specific indicators are like whether the voice is strong or not. I can’t hear it at all. Anyway, the singing is in the tune, and it is very infectious. The 25th anniversary of Fantine should be recognized as a good singer. But I really don't like watching her singing, at least I don't like her performance at that concert, it doesn't feel like Fantine should feel. As for the 10th anniversary concert, I just heard Fantine sing half of Dream the Dream and felt that I couldn't stand it and turned it off. I can't accept the melodious singing. This is the feeling that Fantine is in a hungry and desperate state. It is like a lady on the balcony lamenting that the distant seascape is so beautiful. I feel that musicals are just a form of performance that can better express the plot and characters. The actors should first integrate into the plot and fully express the characters, and then talk about other things. And the tenth anniversary gave me a strong feeling that the actors have to come out and show that they are good at singing. It may be that I really have a low level of appreciation, so that I can't appreciate a classic like the 10th Anniversary.

3. A lot of content is cut off in the movie. I personally feel that the most pity is that the song of turning was cut a bit. I think the lyrics of that song are very well written. Year by year, year after year, nothing will really be changed. The futile resistance on that small barricade finally turned into the dust of history, but...maybe as long as it is remembered, it is not in vain.

4. Marius played really well. I hated this character since watching the live musical. The 25th anniversary guy sang so badly that made me hate this character to another level, but I have seen the movie version of the performance. Disgust is much less.

5. Little Javrosh performed very well, had a child’s spirituality, and sang very well. In contrast, the 25th anniversary of the little bastard really made people want to take a beat.

6. Sha Wei I still prefer the black uncle of the 25th anniversary, probably because he is more handsome, at least in line with my aesthetics. And in the original book, I also like Javert very much, because in any era, no matter what his position, a person who always adheres to principles is worthy of admiration. And the black uncle's performance is more in line with the image of Javert in my mind, majestic but not terrible. The 10th anniversary of Javert is a bit scary... And Russell Crowe, I always feel that it is not dignified...

7. When the bishop appeared, I almost shouted out. Although I only watched a little bit on the 10th anniversary, I liked it very much. The feeling of Grandpa Colm, and those choruses at the end of the 25th anniversary made me feel more fond of the original ancestor Jean Valjean. I know that this musical is only one year old, but when I watched the 25th anniversary, it was in 1985. When the cast appeared, I was also inexplicably excited, although I didn't know any of them. Perhaps it is also an exciting and lucky thing to watch an excellent work slowly become a classic after a wave of interpretations.

9. The Thenardiers personally feel that the pair on the 25th anniversary is not as brilliant. The pair on the 25th anniversary looks very conjugal, and the cooperation is also very tacit, and they still have a very cute feeling under the temperament of that evil petty citizen. The 10th anniversary one looks a bit hideous. The natural dullness of the movie version is too heavy. It always makes people feel unable to open their eyes. There is no such thing as a mental head that keeps ticking. The boss and his wife are the easiest kind of people to survive in such troubled times. It is hateful, but it makes it impossible for people to simply have feelings of "hatred" towards them.

8. The handling of the last scene is great. When you see the end, you should actually be able to guess what they will do, but when that scene appears, you may still be shocked, just like watching friends, you have seen I don't know how many times, you know where the point of laughter is, but you will still laugh there, and you seem to be waiting for the point of laughter to come.

Just like this musical, you may have memorized all the lyrics, and you even know the characteristics of each version of the actor's interpretation, but every time you go to see it, you will not be less moved.
