Bearing the infamy but also innovating

Chinese movie fans are really fascinated by foreigners now. Our own film industry is unregulated and unhealthy. But if there is to be one or two interesting and sincere movies, you will pick and choose and suppress them in various ways. Then I think it will be difficult for you to see such works again in the future.

When Huayi launched the Tai Chi trilogy, it was still full of confidence, largely because Chen Guofu was the producer. With Chen Guofu as the producer, the film's performance will not be too bad. Before that, "Di Renjie: The Empire of Heaven" supervised by Chen Guofu was a success, and external comments even said that Chen Guofu could control Tsui Hark well and tell the film well. Therefore, in addition to the punk steam and the mechanical age, the main theme of Tai Chi this time is the golden lacquer signboard produced by Chen Guofu.

As a producer, Chen Guofu has to make clear which audience his film is aimed at, because such an IMAX+3D film, with an investment of hundreds of millions, is not a game that can lose money casually. The whole film is young and suitable for the whole family to watch, but there is not a single kiss scene in it. In this way, the family only has three tickets, and if we attract young people to enter the venue, it is estimated that the box office will be recovered.

As soon as the result was released, they were stunned and the word of mouth was polarized, but most people felt that the film had disappointed them. Scolding him for splitting two episodes into two episodes is to make money or something. But why is it worth looking at to support such innovation?

Have you seen this style of martial arts movie before this movie? Feng Delun and Wu Yanzu formed a breakout movie at that time, and they were thinking about what kind of film we would make. Feng Delun had previously filmed "Fine Wu Family", so he said hey, let's make an action movie, and asked my big brother to be a martial arts instructor, and it hit it off. , I told Huayi that although Huayi agreed, he still felt unstable, so he asked Chen Guofu to escort him. The story is about Tai Chi. From the beginning of the trailer, it can be seen that the style of this film is definitely not the martial arts films that I have been used to watching in the past.

The stories of the two parts are simple and clear. Rather than telling the origin of Tai Chi, it is better to use the core of Tai Chi to tell the story of how a foolish boy became a martial arts master. However, this is not what he wants to show. The director Feng Delun is very playful. He tries to show it in the style of comics + games, which is not conventional and makes people shine. After the two, you feel like playing an RPG game with the protagonist. You clearly know that the male protagonist will become a master (even the name is written as Yang Luchan), and what you see is what he experienced in the process. This is actually not a typical inspirational story. The male protagonist already has his own talent (Three Flowers Gathering), so this is a movie where you can guess what the next paragraph will say but you will continue to watch it. At this point, it is obvious that this film is characterized as a popcorn movie, and it is good to see it.

The supporting characters in it, as well as the action design, plus the comic-style presentation, are the highlights of this film. In the supporting roles, Feng Ke'an, Liang Xiaolong, Xiong Xinxin, plus trainers from various martial arts teams set a tone for the film. Brother Sammo Hung presented us with the best motion design in recent years. The kitchen battle in the second part can basically lock in the best action design of next year's Academy Awards. Including that part of the mirror movement, it is very nice and smooth.

Using a series of innovative techniques such as health bars, animated subtitles, and comic special effects in martial arts movies is indeed eye-catching. We say it is a film for children. But why can't we encourage this kind of innovation? The Troy shown in the first part and the Tianweiyi in the second part all want to use modern things to put it in the Qing Dynasty to create a feeling of old and modern. The effect is still there, but it is not complete, and it is a little weak. I wanted to talk about the conflict between firearms and kung fu, but I couldn't insist that at the end, even if I left a tail at the end to pave the way for a possible final return, I still couldn't save the situation.

I implore all the officials to give more encouragement to our young and strong directors.
