Watching Notes - "Total Recall (2012)"

1. Far less than Paul Verhoeven's film, it has neither the surprise of science fiction, nor the ambiguity of the narrative, nor the deep enough concern for reality. The setting of The Fall is very boring. Humans have this kind of technical strength to develop the solar system long ago. Australia's Asian-style future street scenes are not so creative, and they are more deliberately to please Asian audiences. 2. The biggest advantage of the previous film is the modernity of the narrative. The opening is a strange planet, dying memories, and a mysterious woman. It is not as cliché as this escape drama. And Schwarzenegger's memory was evoked that cut the before and after surgery through editing, creating a kind of suspense that is not known whether it is already in the newly created memory, leaving room for the later small pill choices, not like this movie. Direct technician yelling that he's an agent so boring. 3. Finally, Paul's portrayal of the fringe community of mutants is much stronger than the film's alleged indictment of exploitation. The pattern of extraterrestrial civilization creating the future of mankind is grand enough, and it is stronger than war when there are only two countries left on earth.

If the old version of the film is in-depth and sublimated on the basis of Dick's original work, then this film is completely superficial and degenerate. The action and special effects scenes have progressed with the times, and the connotation and plot arrangement have completely regressed and failed. The opening scene is so dazzling that I will deduct half a star.

A typical example of couples "infatuated at this time and hated at the same time"

Total Recall quotes

  • Doug Quaid: If I'm not me, then who the hell am I?

Lori Quaid: How would I know? I just work here.

    Doug Quaid: Speculate.

Lori Quaid: If I had to guess, all the trouble Cohaagen's taken to hide you from the Resistance, you must be fairly important. And with your skill set, I think it's highly doubtful you're his gardener.

Doug Quaid: Cohaa... Cohaagen's trying to hide me? Why are you trying to kill me? Talk!

Lori Quaid: Call it the seven-year-itch, Doug. Oh. And by the way, you haven't even *begun* to see me try to kill you!

  • Three-Breasted Woman: Trust me, baby, you're gonna wish you had three hands.
