Xu Zheng is an actor with comedic temperament, but not a director with comedic talent. One of the qualities a comedy director must have is a rich imagination that makes the audience laugh when they don't expect it. I can see Xu Zheng's sincerity in wanting to make a good movie, but unfortunately he lacks imagination in the comedy part, and lacks deep insight into life in the warmth part.
