Brave is not just a legend

Speaking of Pixar Animation Studios, the first thing that comes to mind is "Toy Story", "Finding Nemo" and other series of movies named after "Nemo "", many animation fans couldn't help but mumble: Is Pixar still that talkative and creative production company? Fortunately, such doubts were soon overshadowed by the bursts of praise from fans. Even without the exaggerated character settings and grand scene descriptions of the past, "Brave" still brings a fresh and long-lost touch to all audiences.
This is not an overly complicated story. The little princess Merida with a fluffy red hair is an archer with a splendid and unruly nature. As she grew older, Merida finally ushered in the most important moment of her life: her mother asked her to marry princes from other tribes. Unwilling to be so arranged for her fate, Merida is determined to use all means to change her bad situation. She asked for help from the witch in the deep forest, but she didn't expect that this reckless move would only have catastrophic results-the queen became a terrifying wild bear under the spell. In order to redeem her unforgivable mistake, Merida did her best to help her mother get back to her original condition. In the process, Merida finally understood that only love and courage can truly rescue the predicament.
From this point of view, the content of the film inevitably falls into clichés and fantasies, but in fact, these seemingly smooth plots and specially laid out sections are precisely the places that capture the audience's attention the most. In the movie, the recurring contradictions make a fairytale-like unrealistic story extremely close to life: from the beginning, the rebellious little princess has had many verbal confrontations with her mother, as if to reflect that she used to be mentally immature. We are desperately eager to break away from our parents and pursue freedom; and when our mother became a bear under our own wrong behavior, the courage of the little princess also revealed the philosophy of life that only through adversity can a qualitative transformation occur; in the end, When the only villain Modu wanted to bite Merida, the queen turned into a bear desperately rushed up to fight the beast to the death. This clip that pushed the whole movie to the climax is making money. While the audience tears, they also tell us: No matter when and where, even if the face changes, maternal love will always be the greatest emotion in the world.
It is worth mentioning that this movie is the first work of Pixar Movies and Television to return to Disney, so it will inevitably be contaminated with the shadow of many DreamWorks. For example, the background environment is set in a Scottish castle. The ending of the reunion story and so on. But from the perspective of details, the film still fully displays the emotional transition and the true advantages of narrative that DreamWorks is not good at. Especially in capturing the scenes of the mother and daughter getting along after changing to bears, there is not too much pen and ink to depict the princess’s inner regret or the mother’s helpless blame, but through a playful, funny, and full of laughter. Scenes to express the affection between mother and daughter. Sure enough, it is far better to impress people's hearts in ordinary ways than deliberately sensational.
"Brave", the bravery is not only the Merida who turned the tide in the film, but also the Pixar production team who silently persisted and made a bold transformation behind the scenes. Without preaching, without coercion, love is the best textbook. Looking back at the domestic animated films, we still need to learn too much.
