Planning and Algorithms

I watched a short short film "The Algorithm of Love" this morning, and I was bored to watch this film in the afternoon. In fact, I read it wrong and saw it as a time planning bureau...
Part 1
When human beings face some unexplainable problems and confusion , and constantly imagine a model to solve these problems, when science solves many physical problems, science fiction turns to information.
To evaluate these two ideas: planning and algorithms, I have to think of my information management class. Originally, there were only 7 people in the class of 90 people. The teacher told us that he believed that material and information are equal, and they are the basic elements of the world.
Both "Algorithm of Love" and "Planning Bureau of Destiny" are giving rules to seemingly irregular things, and their examples in their works are all about feelings, especially love. Algorithms believe that people are most likely to be a perfect programming work, with an excellent learning system and a perfect database. The Planning Bureau believes that there is a department planning the fate of people, and all "ideas" and "fortunes" are arranged. These are two ideas that make life boring.
But people have been trying to explain the world with a stable and reliable system. After the establishment of the physical system, the occurrence of human emotions has not yet been explained. "Fate", "Fate", "Feeling", "Heartbeat", and many more chemical and biological explanations. But there are people who stand on the commanding heights of emotion and say: Oh, if it's just love under chemical reaction, it's not worth pursuing. Contradiction must be a natural common attribute of human beings, and it must also be an inexhaustible driving force for human progress.
We hope that everything is settled, we can shirk the responsibility of failure to fate, and then attribute the glory of success to our struggle with fate. "Fate Planning Bureau" has fallen into such a clichéd way, and we have to sing praises of "love" . In our information management class, because there were too few people, the teacher decided to change the teaching of Buddhism, so he taught us "The Four Precepts of the Fan". Look, this kind of idea has been around for a long time. You dare to say that what you wrote is science fiction?
Not being able to face the confusing truth of life can be seen as a form of cowardice, but those who persistently pursue the truth of life tend to make themselves superstitious in the end.
I sometimes feel that my sixth sense tells me that I will definitely be XXXX in the future, but this feeling may be purely out of my expectation, and I can't help but feel sad when I think about it. And doing nothing with this sad feeling.

Part 2 After
reading "The Algorithm of Love", I thought about it seriously. This setting is as mediocre as the Planning Bureau, and it is not at all awesome. The human communication process is originally the process of encoding-transmitting-decoding information. People with the same cultural background use the same Just like the "Chinese box test" mentioned in the article, what he struggled with was that humans did not actually understand each other's meaning and replied, that is, they replied directly without decoding. And this is completely impossible, and there are many people who are not astonishing to die. Moreover, Shannon's formula is the focus of informatics and the basis of communication. Whether there is the same encoding and decoding method determines the distance of interpersonal relationships. The differences between her and her husband in "Algorithm" are nothing more than complaints from little women. : He doesn't understand me at all, he just tricked me into saying that he loves me. This raises another question: are there two people who encode and decode in exactly the same way? It should be impossible, no two people's encounters are exactly the same, so two people who are together must also learn how to decode and encode each other.
The setting in "Destiny Planning Bureau" is that when human beings have to make a choice, they can control the "choice tree" of human beings. People make choices based on information. The more information they know, the better they can make decisions quickly. They seem to have hacked the process of rationally analyzing information. This kind of setting is very vague, so it is not exciting at all. Rather, they can be set up so that they can provide disinformation or other distractions in human decisions. But it's still great for the setting of wearing a hat to enter the medium, because the solemnity requires taking off the hat.

The Adjustment Bureau quotes

  • Harry Mitchell: [talks to David] You're going to look for her, aren't you? You won't find her. They'll make sure of it. Even if they weren't trying to stop you, there are nine million people in this city. You'll never find her. Forget about her. Move on with your life.

  • David Norris: What ever happened to Free Will?

Thompson: We actually tried Free Will before. After taking you from hunting and gathering to the height of the Roman Empire we stepped back to see how you'd do on your own. You gave us the Dark Ages for five centuries... until finally we decided we should come back in. The Chairman thought maybe we just needed to do a better job of teaching you how to ride a bike before taking the training wheels off again. So we gave you the Renaissance, the Enlightenment, the Scientific Revolution. For six hundred years we taught you to control your impulses with reason, then in 1910 we stepped back. Within fifty years, you'd brought us World War I, the Depression, Fascism, the Holocaust and capped it off by bringing the entire planet to the brink of destruction in the Cuban Missile Crisis. At that point a decision was taken to step back in again before you did something that even we couldn't fix. You don't have free will, David. You have the appearance of free will.
