The core of the story is the traditional Hollywood style, with a love line and a "Cinderella" line where a little ruffian becomes a big hero. Then add the content of alien invasion and naval battle to the main line, and it has become a fairly mature commercial movie.
But is the alien's equipment too heavy metal in the film? In my opinion, the more advanced the technology, the more powerful the functions, and the simpler the appearance should be. The water droplets in "Three-Body Problem 2" are king. By comparison, the aliens and their spaceships in this film are too earthy.
What impressed me and gave me four stars is the notion that talent is the core fighting force conveyed by the film. In the end, it was the antique-class battleship USS Missouri, which was controlled by a group of gray-haired veterans. A good interpretation of General MacArthur's famous saying "old soldiers never die, only slowly wither". The sense of mission and honor of the veterans in the climax of the film is exciting and awe-inspiring.
