neorealist road comedy

Neorealist road comedy. I came up with the word myself. Obviously, the satirical object of the film is France's current pension system for workers, and the protagonist's search journey around this realistic theme is full of comedy. The film's picture is rough and grainy, similar to the photography style of the black-and-white predecessor "The Humanoid Zoo". The French humor that runs through the whole play is very good, and all of them can hit the point of laughter. What impressed me the most was the part of the four men in the restaurant. The rhythm and atmosphere reminded me of Korismaki in Finland and Roy Andersson in Sweden. There are also quite good "laughing fruits" in passages such as wife calling and chasing down female thieves, two fat men jerking off in bed, and niece interviewing for a job. Come on, strong self-deprecating means brings tears to laughter. The actress Adjani, who has been out of the shadows for many years, actually appeared in a terrifying image in a fantasy scene, adding a bit of absurdity to the cruel reality. It's a pity that the second half of the film is getting tired, and the critical part has weakened. It is still worth looking forward to the director's next film.
