The story takes place in the 1950s, and the hero, Landon, is a middle school student who does not study countless times. He lives in a family where his parents are divorced. His father sends living expenses every month, and he often looks for opportunities to make up for Landon, but he is ruthlessly rejected by him. Think of what Landon said to mom in the movie: writing a check every month does not make him a father.
Lack of father's love, longing for father's love, but refusing father's love, he was in school, together with his small group, often skipping classes and going out to have fun. If it wasn't for her, maybe he would have lived in such a messy life for the rest of his life. Until one day, I suddenly looked back and sighed that I had wasted my good years.
Until one day, the small group got into trouble. A classmate who wanted to play with them expressed his wish to Landon. Landon and his team took advantage of this by tricking him into a reservoir and tricking him into jumping off a high platform, as a way to prove the classmate was eligible to join the group. Unexpectedly, the water below is very shallow.
The classmate was admitted to the hospital, and Landon was caught by the accompanying police.
Instead of expelling Landon, the principal ordered him to do community service during school hours and on days off. He was forced to take part in a play at that year's Christmas party, playing the leading man, a playboy. And Jamie plays a mysterious singer in it.
In order not to make a fool of himself at the Christmas party, Landon took the initiative to ask Jamie to go to Jamie's house to check the lines. When Jamie agreed, he said to Landon, "but you have to promise that you won't fall in love with me." It was the woman who was self-indulgent, and she agreed with a smile.
At the scene of the Christmas party, Jamie took off her perennial shirt for performance needs, put on a white dress on the floor, added a little make-up, and matched her pure and high-pitched singing. Instantly conquered Landon. The script was finished successfully, but Landon accidentally kissed Jamie at the end of the script.
Jamie was angry and thought Landon had overstepped the boundaries of being a friend and had done something he shouldn't have done. However, Landon believes that Jamie is hiding from him on purpose, just for fear that she will fall in love with him one day. Hearing this, Jamie felt unreasonable, turned around angrily and left.
After that, although he broke up with Landon, he still cared about his ex-girlfriend and was still dissatisfied with Jamie for the kiss at the prom. So she savagely attached her head to a hot girl, calling her Virgin Mary. This is undoubtedly the biggest insult to Jamie who believes in Christianity.
Seeing the flyers flying all over the campus and the joking eyes of people around her, when she was about to collapse, Landon hugged her and comforted her by saying, "this isn't about you, it's about me." Turning around, He punched his former friend. His pity and love for her were all revealed in that moment.
They still fell in love in the end. I remember that morning in the movie, Jamie closed his eyes in the morning light and said "love is like wind, i can not see it, but i can feel it.". I remember the panicked look in Jamie's eyes when Landon kissed her, until later.
Because of Jamie, Landon no longer thinks about the messy life before. He wants to go to school, to study medicine, to accomplish many things. Remember in the movie Landon said to his mom Jamie makes me want to do better because she has faith in me.
