I watched this movie by accident and thought it was really fucking powerful.

The main idea of the film is to awaken the sense of urgency among Australian teenagers, and remind them that the Asian countries that are nearby are getting stronger and stronger, so they must catch up.
The main plot is that an Asian country invaded Australia, and a group of Australian teenagers escaped due to their outing, and then launched a guerrilla fight against the aggression.

The first half of the film is about the carefree outing life of ordinary Australian teenagers, showing the life of teenagers Content, thoughts, friendship. The second half is about the fact that they encountered the invasion, the changes in their thoughts and actions, reflecting the spirit of resistance.

Look at this movie that has been ahead of China for two years now, and the recently released Golden Heist is similar, but after watching the Golden Heist, you will feel a kind of sadness.

It's not the movie itself, but the mental state of young people. No doubt Ning Hao is using the past to satirize the present. The state of contemporary Chinese youth is cynicism, street party, unable to care about any events other than their own survival.

I think it's pretty good, although it's a bit naive, maybe it's because I've watched too many slow and boring movies recently, this young man and woman save the world and make some small awkwardness and it's quite cute~

Tomorrow, When the War Began quotes

  • Ellie Linton: A month ago, we were just an average bunch of teenagers, studying at school and complaining about our parents. Now we're soldiers, trapped behind enemy lines and fighting to survive. But we won't run, we wont hide, we'll fight and keep fighting, we'll never give up until this war is finally won.

  • Ellie Linton: Do you remember how many hours we used to spend up here?

Corrie Mackenzie: You mean the tea parties?

Ellie Linton: We were so innocent back then. Now I-I feel like we were innocent right up until yesterday. God, we didn't believe in Santa Claus or anything like that. But no, we believed in other fantasies. We believed that we were safe. Guess that was the biggest fantasy of them all.
