The destructive power of faith

As a staunch atheist who despises various religious beliefs, you will be surprised when you watch "A Parting". For
example, before the servant takes off his pants for the old man, he has to call to inquire whether it is against beliefs,
such as the irritable servant husband. Because the teacher swears to the Quran and immediately turns off the fire
and leaves , for example, in the end, the servant would rather put the whole family in a desperate situation than swear on the Quran because of "doubt" and so on!

I don't think this film can escape two words: principles and beliefs. During the viewing process, you will involuntarily wander between the two families, you will always feel that each has its own difficulties and difficulties, and each has its own faults and reasons.

At this point, you may also think, what went wrong? Maybe the stubbornness of the law is a factor, maybe it's too trusting or too distrustful or too selfish between people, maybe it's a factor that the ethics of religion are too restrictive... all kinds of things! etc!

Everything can be attributed to the adherence of the protagonists (including the law behind the judge) under their own principles. And this kind of perseverance and compromise. You can see the dark places in each character's psychology, but you can't tell whether the darkness must be illuminated by some light!

The hand-held footage of almost the entire film, the actors perform extremely well, and sometimes even make you feel that this is a documentary, very real, natural and heart-wrenching!

But I have to say that maybe the creative team didn't expect "A Parting" to achieve what it is today, because for the Iranians, they may be worried that this is just a self-talk, and they may have a deep-rooted belief that it is just a The stories that happen naturally around you under the beliefs determined by this Koran have nothing to do with other countries.

But outside the country where there is only oil left, there is a lack of belief everywhere. This belief has nothing to do with religion, no matter if you believe in yourself, the country or not, whether you believe in D or not.

In the end, some kind of worldwide lack makes "A Parting" in this country even more shocking! After all, the destructive power of faith created this separation!

Too strong, all the settings seem to be carefully designed without any redundancy; using the beginning and end of an event to reflect the complexity of a society and even the nature shared by all human beings, there are needles hidden in the needles, and people are pierced. I like the roles of Reitz's daughter and Nader's father the most, children who don't yet know what the adult world is, and the elderly with dementia who have lost their ability to judge, just perfectly act as alienated bystanders.

A Separation quotes

  • Termeh: Didn't you say it's not serious?

    Nader: It got serious.

  • Simin: Does he even realize you are his son?

Nader: I know he is my father!
