Hidden details in the movie

Very good movie.
I don't want to talk about long-shot religious metaphors.
I just want to talk about what I found when I used the freeze-frame function on the remote control the second time I watched it.
The protagonist, Theo, is not a police officer in any immigration department. At the beginning of the movie, he walked into the building's wall and said-Energy Department.
The two male protagonists are riding on the light rail, some people throw stones, and the advertisement behind the rioting crowd says that avoiding fertility tests is crime.
The three male protagonists went to Jasper's house in the woods for the first time. The camera flicked over a bunch of photos and briefings, followed by opposing the Iraq War, theo, Julian and their youngest son Dylan. The background was the famous anti-war slogan not. in my name Don’t use my name, Bush’s name, Jasper’s wife won the Photojournalist Award, Jasper won the Political Cartoon Award, the human sterility rate reached 20%, and MI5 denied involvement in torturing the photojournalist (Jasper’s wife) The infertility rate of human beings reached 90%, and there were no new-born cartoons drawn by Jasper when two years ago (the ibis who sent the children were shot to death by gunfire). A large number of immigrants flooded into Europe
. Theo went to his friends for help, went in and put down cigarettes and plates. It says ark of arts
. There are often boxes with quietus in movies. There are also quietus ads on TV. In fact, quiet us is a painless suicide drug. Jasper took this box before he died. To his wife.
Sixth, when theo and kee entered the checkpoint at night, there were many detained people outside the car. One of them was wearing a black hood with his hands raised. It was exactly the same as the picture of the US military torturing prisoners in Abugrada prison, Iraq, and on the ground. The corpses lined up also allude to the atrocities committed by the U.S. military in Iraq.

"Son of Man" was shortlisted for Oscar for best screenplay adaptation, photography and editing.
As I expected, they are all technical awards.
Maybe the technology is too good, maybe the subject matter is too sharp. The tower, which is much more mediocre than it, is nominated for the best picture-there may still be a chance to win, even though it has crashed.
Of course, Oscar can't let such a black, sharp thing spoil a dream party. What if the director shouts shame on you Bush when he wins the prize?

This is not a science fiction movie, it is about the evil and absurd world of the moment and its direction in the next 20 years. It may be more appropriate to call it a reality-themed movie. Science fiction is just a layer of technology.

I pay the utmost respect to the director's courage to point directly at the dark reality of mankind and to boldly fictional the black future.

ps: There are cats in many scenes in the
movie. The music in the movie must also hide a lot of details. The
above two points summon the expert to explain.

Children of Men quotes

  • Luke: [his last line] I had a sister...

  • Jasper: Everything is a mythical, cosmic battle between faith and chance.

    [offers Miriam a joint]

    Miriam: Maybe I shouldn't.

Jasper: You already did. Take another one. Now cough. What do you taste?

    Miriam: Strawberries!

Jasper: Strawberries? That's what it's called: Strawberry Cough!

    Kee: Wicked!

Jasper: So. You've got faith over here, right? And chance over there.

    Miriam: Like yin and yang.

    Jasper: Sort of.

    Miriam: Or Shiva and Shakti.

    Jasper: Lennon and McCartney!

Kee: [looking at pictures] Look, Julian and Theo.

Jasper: Yeah, there you go! Julian and Theo met among a million protestors in a rally by chance. But they were there because of what they believed in in the first place, their faith. They wanted to change the world. And their faith kept them together. But by chance, Dylan was born.

Kee: [picks up another photo] This is him?

Jasper: Yeah, that's him. He'd have been about your age. Magical child. Beautiful. Their faith put in praxis.

    Miriam: "Praxis"? What happened?

Jasper: Chance. He was their sweet little dream. He had little hands, little legs, little feet. Little lungs. And in 2008, along came the flu pandemic. And then, by chance, he was gone. You see, Theo's faith lost out to chance. So, why bother if life's going to make its own choices?

    Kee: Baby's got Theo's eyes.

    Jasper: Yeah.

Miriam: Oh, boy. That's terrible. But, you know, everything happens for a reason.

Jasper: That, I don't know. But Theo and Julian would always bring Dylan. He loved it here.
