The elder Martin, who was keen to portray people on the margins of society before, focused on the social history of the American Civil War this time. He integrated the revenge of the gang into the historical background of the American Civil War. For the revenge story of Li, except for Lewis’ acting skills, there is basically nothing to see. As for the historical picture behind the film, it is my concern. Unfortunately, I don’t understand this period of history, and I don’t dare to be shoddy. The following quotes the interpretation of a film critic: God will not care for people who struggle, regardless of justice or evil, struggle is the original sin. History is unconscious, and people in any age are fighting, dying, and living for survival and dignity.
