Gangs of New York is translated into New York gangs. It’s really blind. The director wants to say too much and wants to express too much. It’s too superficial to just use gangs to summarize. This is a documentary about the birth of a city and a country. Maybe when we understand why American was born in the street, we can better understand this nation and this nation. BTW, except for the three protagonists who may be fictitious in the play, the whole story is based on the history of 1846-1853, riots, conscription, shopping... I think maybe the three protagonists have prototypes, but they are already in the prosperous development of New York at any time. Submerged in the past, like the last barren tombstone opposite the Golden Gate Bridge...The Hands That Built America (U2)

It took four days and nights for the suppression of the riot to subside. We never know how many New Yorkers died that week before this city was saved. My father told me that everything was born in blood and suffering. The same is true of our great city. Before that, we lived and died in the frenzied years, as if everything we were familiar with was swept away. No matter how they rebuild the city, in the remaining time, it seems that no one knows that you have lived here.
