Jim Carrey's signature exaggerated expression is sometimes a bit too exaggerated. But the theme of the film is healing, family, sincerity, and it is quite fun to watch.

Very good theatrical premise, but I really don't like Jim Carrey's exaggerated performance. The phrase "overactor" of the actress who played the lawyer in the tidbits matched the meeting in the play in a wonderful way: the emperor's new clothes were exposed, but everyone treated it as a joke to resolve the embarrassment. In fact, she was telling the truth.
Fletcher: I was hoping after being married to me you'd have no more strength left.
Audrey: Well, you have to remember that when we were married, I wasn't having sex nearly as often as you were.
Gretta: And your ex-wife called, she wants to know when you're coming to pick up your son.
Fletcher: [remembers] Oh, I'm such a shit!
