A typical inspirational film, the first half of the film focuses too much on Liz's family conflict, what a bad environment she is in, how unfavorable for her study, but I don't like this kind of structure very much. Her achievements give people a feeling of being at your fingertips, not that they are unreal, but immovable. There are no typical events and details to highlight her struggle, and she cannot feel that kind of positive energy. The subject matter is good, but the director's story is very well told. Rough, not as good as Slumdog Millionaire which I don't like, so 2 stars.
For so many people to give 4-5 stars in unison? Could it be that my dog is really blind? ? ? puzzled.

Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story quotes

  • Chris: I don't want to go to school. I don't belong there and neither do you.

    Liz Murray: Yes, I do.

Chris: You think they let people like us in to Harvard?

  • Liz Murray: I loved my mother, so much. She was a drug addict. She was an alcoholic. She was legally blind. She was a schizophrenic. But I never forgot, that she did love me. Even if, if she did. All the time. All the time. All the... All the time.
