I love "Swordsman" very much, and my favorite is Mr. Jin Yong's original work, so I have always reserved my own opinions on this classic work with my own interpretation. But after reading it, I didn't feel any discomfort at all because it modified the original.
In the film, Linghu Chong set the tone for going into seclusion from the very beginning. He and his younger sister went to Yedian to meet up with the younger brothers, and then left the rivers and lakes to Niubei Mountain together.
The expression of this thought was vividly expressed on the eve of the undefeated battle between Ren Woxing and the East. Some people say that among the four beautiful women in the film, only Shishi is ruthless to Linghu Chong, but she is precisely Linghu Chong's first woman, which is ironic. Linghu Chong, the protagonist in the book, shows a free and unrestrained spirit. In his eyes, there are not so many distinctions between good and evil, and he has his own criteria for judgment.
His dashing nature was initially limited. He has a teacher, and he has been educated by a well-known and decent family since he was a child. After that, he was expelled from his teacher's door, and then discovered that his most respected master had done a disgraceful act. These unbearable facts made him tired step by step, forcing him to the end of retirement. When all his limitations are broken, his unrestrained unrestrainedness really shows.
If the original work reflects a certain state of mind of the author in that special era, Dongfang Invincible is by no means the protagonist, he is just a representative of a character, and is used to push the more prominent representative Ren Woxing to a climax. Linghu Chong is more likely to show the author's attitude, passively choosing to stay away from the torrent of the times.
In the film, the character of Dongfang Invincible is drawn in full, ruthless, affectionate, ambitious, infatuated, and the complexity of human nature is reflected in him; Linghu Chong's reason for seclusion is placed in a secondary position, when he and his younger sister left There are also some happy elements.
